"Call it both ways" = "Call it our way."
"I saw that U12 boy drive to the game and he looks like he shaved this morning"="I did not see him drive to the game and he is much taller than my kid"
"You can't end the half with a corner kick about to be taken"="We were about to take a corner kick when time ran out".
"She got all ball"="The ambulance will be here soon, it will probably grow back"
"She could not have been offside, I have trained them to never be offside"="Another offside. We should probably learn what that is and practice not being it"
Rm Basketball (That is a handball, by the way)

I got one...

"The grass was too tall" - We lost the game.

This thread was just linked in another post. I have a confession to make that I've felt guilty about for close to 3 years now. I believe my DDs team was the one this excuse was originally used against unless it had been used before the 01s. The truth is.... the grass really was too tall! Shocked I stayed quiet at the time because we were the lower ranked academy team that tied a higher team in this instance. It was the longest grass my daughter has ever played on- think 4 to 6 inch wet, thick rye grass at the end of spring. Girls for both teams were tripping left and right. It had the effect of slowing down the team that was trying to use their bigger/faster girls to break away, but allowed the team using the shorter passes to hang with them.

So therefore I think "The grass was too tall" was more of an equalizing excuse for a poor performance by a good team rather than an excuse for losing. Sort of like, "They packed the box." ha ha

I feel better now. Very Happy

ahhh! We meet again! And not in the mirror this time!
I have a good one:
"Kick her in the balls!"... Opposing parents feel your daughter is more athletically gifted.
Another one:
"Did you get all of the money out of the safe?"... Something a dirty south parent says.

my daughter always plays forward-
what it means in soccer-My daughter doesnt know how to defend
what it means to the parent-scoring goals is really all i care about anyway

my daughter plays midfield
what it means in soccer-she will learn to dribble and be creative or she won't play midfield for long
what it means to parents-why isn't she playing forward and scoring goals

my daughter plays defender-
what it means in soccer-she is getting invaluable time learning to be a good 1v1 player
what it means to parents-why isn't she playing forward and scoring goals

my daughter is a goalkeeper

what it means in soccer-she is crazy
what it means to parents-she is crazy

cheers
