ECNL Team Recruiting

Many of you have girls playing ECNL and this question is for you. There is another set of parents who don't have girls playing ECNL and I suspect they'll have the same questions I'm posting below.

How established are the ECNL teams?

Are they still looking for new players or is there a core set of players who have been playing together since the beginning and the likelihood of anyone breaking into that group is nil and slim?

I’m trying to get a feel for how established the teams are and what are the odds of making a team?

I know this is a very elite group of girls, but how often do you see a girl come out and make the team or is it ECNL girls just swapping teams?

How often do the ECNL teams practice?

When and how often do you travel?

Just contact the coach(es) of the team or teams your daughter is interested in and see if you can bring her out to practice. Solar, Feet, FC and Texans all added a few girls last summer to their rosters and will probably be looking to add new talent as they lose some kids due to injury, playing time or costs. Give it try and see what happens. Sting is the only team that seem to stay with their current roster last year. I don't know who they added if anyone, they were pretty loaded to begin with.

the best thing is to contact the team you are interested in and go check them out. You never know.

My daugther was contacted by the ECNL team in our club to dual roster her (actually they contacted her coach first to get permission). ECNL was not even on our radar, she is happy in D1, but she is excited at the opportunity.
