College Prep Immersion Program
Press Release
Tuesday, November 29th

Liverpool FC America and LFCA’s Girls Director, Ben Waldrum, announces the creation of the College Prep Immersion program. An innovative, first class program designed for the elite level player. The CPI program emphasis is on the female athletes that are highly committed and have aspirations of playing college soccer and reaching the next level.

The 1st goal of the program is to provide elite coaching to prepare players technically, tactically, and by enhancing the development of a “soccer brain” that college coaches want good young players to have. The 2nd goal is to inform and educate the players and parents on the recruiting process, the expectations of players in the recruiting process, and preparing players and parents on the demands of the college game.

In the College Prep Immersion program, a specific training curriculum based on technical training designed by LFCA professional staff in conjunction with several college coaches on LFCA’s College Advisory Board in the demands of the college game. The CPI program is designed for the committed and elite player targeted at a certain ages to prepare these young athletes to be college ready players from the moment they would step into a college soccer program.

The Immersion Method
The Immersion Method is a state of being deeply engaged or involved. Total absorption.
Designed to: Bring out creativity
Passion and love of the game
Required: Additional Resources and Support
End Result: Highest Quality Players
Greater Confidence
Higher Marketability
Better Overall Players
Education process
Overall Education: Today, teachers teach a subject for a minimum of one hour a day for five days in a row
Literacy- “Recommended 14 hours a week for proficiency” during the years of 4-10. Ages 4-10
Adult Job training- every day for 10-12 weeks for an employee to adjust to a new job, new responsibilities, processes and procedures
Soccer education process and current model
2-3 hours of training per week
1.5 hours of game time.

That would be the equivalent of opening four books per week, and giving 6 spelling tests supposedly to teach a child to read.

How long do you think it would take to teach reading with this method?

College Prep Immersion Cycles
1 full cycle is 2 months; 3 weeks training with 4 practices a week (2 regular team practices and 2 CPI sessions), followed by 1 week complete off (besides game)
Off weeks – classroom meetings (3 total)
Introducing into LFCA College Placement Workshop,
College recruitment process – marketing yourself sponsored by SoccerRecruitTools.com
Demands of college student-athletes (time management development, psychological components)
Normal teams train 2 twice a week; our program recommends that 2 times a week you are with your current club team and have two extra sessions added to the week.
Three program cycles will be completed in a soccer playing year from July through the following June
Due to the intensive time commitment our program recommends some down time between CPI cycles

Immersion Program Data
Test group of players participated in the Immersion Program curriculum
5 different technical tests were given to the players before, during, and after program
Results
Players that participated in the Immersion program averaged 134% improvement in all technical testing areas
Testing recorded high was 238% improvement in all technical testing areas
Testing recorded low was 32% improvement in all technical testing areas
Used 3 groups of players all groups followed our CPI program curriculum
Those players that participated in training 3 days a week versus the normal 2 days averaged a score of 63% higher
Those players that participated in training 4 days a week versus the normal 2 days averaged a score of 176% higher

CPI Program Begins
The official start date of the program will be March 12, 2012. The program is an invitational program designed for the elite and highly committed individuals who have aspirations reaching the next level. There will be an ability to apply for enrollment into the program and have a member of the CPI staff come evaluate you in practices and games.

So what do you all think of this program? Would your DD want to be involved in this program's offerings?

Evolve to truly inspire, educate, and develop youth players through creating a culture of excellence, and moving beyond obsolete philosophies. We aspire to create opportunities for each individual willing to invest in their own success.

Looks like a great benefit for the dd's that are willing to put in the commitment! Kudos for those involved in putting a program like this together.

I wonder if something like this would give kids more technical development and similar exposure to college level so they are in the right program and ready to play, then the 'other alternatives' that market themselves on being 'Elite National' programs...?? Shocked Shocked

Looks like one cycle costs $175 ($150 if you are with Liverpool) or total of $$350 ($300 if you are with Liverpool).

Well my daughter is too young for this, but I was wondering from those of you with older DDs if this is something you have seen before? The price seems fair. Maybe in a few years, my DD will get good enough to go...
