Re: College Prep Immersion Program
I know our '02s have done a version of this immersion program and the results were tremendous:
Based of the Liverpool – Legends Girls Curriculum designed by Ben Waldrum, Matt Veasey, and Randy Waldrum, the Immersion Program sessions were designed to involve deliberate or deep practice that would push the players to their technical ability edge to create the rapid rate of skill acquisition.
The Immersion Program does require a highly motivated player and parents to gain the most out of the program. We are currently in the process of piloting this newly developed program with the 2002 Dalglish & 2002 Beardsley girls’ teams. The data through our 1st cycle in the program shows the rapid rate of development that has taken place from the programs’ testing.
Liverpool-Legends Girls Curriculum & Immersion Program Sessions after 1st cycle
Testing Results
- Participated 2 days a week (normal) = 54% improvement
- Participated 3 days a week = 117% improvement
- Participated 4 days a week (Immersion) = 230% improvement
3 days (Immersion Program) versus 2 days = 63% difference
4 days (Immersion Program) versus 2 days = 176% difference
“Immersion program was designed by a handful of the most qualified and top coaches in the women’s game across the United States from the national team level, to the elite college game, and in the youth game. This unique program is the 1st of its kind in area. This is an exciting opportunity for this particular age group to set the trend on how we train and develop players for the future. We are continuing to seek out those young individuals that are highly motivated and truly have a passion for the game.” - LFCA Girls’ Director Ben Waldrum
The '02s should be starting up another immersion cycle in May and again in June. My DD is looking forward to it! Now the CPI is a lot higher level and at a more intense pace than what the '02s are capable of at this age.
