I think Webb is going to stumble. My Predictions:

Gold

1 - FCD Premier
2 - Solar Dynamo
3 - Solar Red Webb
4 - D'Feeters
5 - FCD Red Renfro

Silver

1 - DT Moreno
2 - Sting Dunstan
3 - Sting Gutierrez
4 - Polaris
5 - DT Vigil

In Gold, Renfro won't have help from FCD Prem guests this time, so it will be tougher than previous tourney for them. In Silver, guesting will be a bigger factor. Sting has bunch of girls available from Searls. But, I'm assuming Moreno will win out easily good core plus lots of DT Higg help. Polaris will feel the pain of not having as many guests. Same with Vigil. This is a tough call because not a lot of outdoor games recently for most these teams. Gotta assume some rust over the winter break makes it tricky.

Java with a bold prediction! I have not seen Webb or Grubb play. I hope to catch them in action this weekend.

5. FCD Red(might be out of class....DT Moreno should be in gold)

Hey Java, where are you coming up with Polaris having guests, my source tells me 14-15 strong with recent additions and pretty much a set roster? I did hear Vigil was down to 11 on their roster.

I think Java was saying the sting and Moreno teams would have the benefit of guests and Vigil and Polaris would not.

But I could be wrong the very first time in the last 10 seconds or so!

Exactly. I think Polaris and Vigil will be mostly if not completely core rosters, while Moreno and the Stings will have help. Vigil might get some help from Higg since Higg is a full roster and idle this weekend but Polaris in for a long wkd unless they really surprise.

Got ya, thanks for the clarity. Moreno will be a test no doubt for the other teams in this bracket, don't see the same for the Sting teams, I see Moreno and Polaris in this one unless of course Vigil loads heavy with big sister help. Who knows, we'll see soon enough!

Whoa...some interesting predictions here made with confidence!

TX Spirit over Rangel and FCD over Webb...while wouldn't shock me it would be a change based on what has happened in past. But FCD definately has the horses that is for sure. I also like Dynamo--another 'quiet' team who plays the right way.

I'll just let this weekend play itself out. But, Webb and FCD did play each other this past weekend!

Based on your post and strong prediction FCD Premier must of beat SRSA Webb in a scrimmage last weekend then and pretty hard too. Makes my Webb stumbling prediction suddenly look extra good and FCD the team to beat. It also means my thoughts on teams being rusty aint right given there are quiet scrimmages going on that no one was talking about. What was the score? No reason not to tell us now that its out. Any other scrimmages happen recently?

I have one more prediction. Kat will be yelling a little louder this weekend at the FCD game. Can't wait to see that one. I just bought my ticket from stubhub.

Nothing like that. FCD had a winter outdoor league with FCD Premier, Webb, Defeeters, Sting Searls, and FCD West all playing games against each other. 8v8 played outdoors on a U9 size field. Sting and Defeeters also played each other this past weekend....both games were very good with Sting winning 2-0 in first game and tieing 3-3 in the next game. And FCD vs Webb was right next to it and I believe final score was 5-0 by my count! But remember this is 8v8 on a little smaller field....so its not totally indigative of an 11v11 game! But 5-0 is a butt whippin any way you look at it!

A top girl from Kat went to Higgy. Dont know if that disrupted team chemistry or not. Higgy way up in numbers-something got to give. How many of the old girls are grandfathered in and how many new girls got talent to hang?
Thos who are playing with Bennett might want to question WHY they were asked to play -possible new home?

I do know there are Cheers and JEERS for HIggy over weekend, looking like a fractured front.
CHEERS-
Groups of Higgy players won an indoor game-that he stepped out on (rumor was because most of top players where missing, with exception of main goal scorer in indoor game) Girls played with parent coaching an won anyway, despite caoch and so called top girls gone!. CHEERS.
JEERS-
Higgy made team forfiet another game over the weekend against Top Solar Red team -due to same reasons -top girls gone! BOOOOOOO, give remaining girls a chance. This is one less game they get to play.
Proud of kids for come back win! Sorry they couldnt play second scheduled game.

So "heyheyhey" oh I mean "Guest" is this your attempt at knocking on the Higg team? Seems to me if they did pull out a win with a coach who stepped out on them then that shows one of two things.

1. They have a coach who is unloyal to his entire group and only loyal to his money makers and under estimates the rest.

2. That team is better and deeper than everyone makes them out to be.

Which is it "GUEST"?

I really hope this is not another thread that yields toward the inexorable gravity of Dallas Texans drama/soap opera. DT02 Higg is not officially playing in this tournament, even if a some of his girls are. Lets not make them the center of discussion.

Based on recent revelations, my predictions is FC Dallas Premier will win in Gold and Dallas Texans Moreno in Silver.

Getting trounced will not sit well with Solar Webb. We will see how that rematch goes Sunday night. I have a feeling there will be a lot of extra "fans" attending this game. Who needs another DT soap when we already have Ali vs Frazier 2 all lined up, and on the pitch instead of on the forums!

It will be interesting to see how DT Moreno does. New, female coach. I know she had an 01 team but I don't know how good they were. It might take time to get in the groove with a new coach plus several new girls. So if they don't kill everyone as predicted...they may just need a little time. I wish them the best though and I am glad the girls that are still there have stuck together...I hope their patience pays off and they stay on top.

If someone has a girl on a team that is currently ranked outside the top 30 teams but they think she is D1 caliber, this tournament seems perfect for checking out teams in action and talk with some coaches that are "looking to fill out roster slots. I think I've seen posts for DT Moreno, Feet, FCD Renfro, DT Vigil, Polaris all looking to add players. These 5 teams are all playing making it a great weekend to check them out and see how they "feel" and all 5 are ranked in the top 20.

OR...if you have a DD that loves to play and has fun on her current team with her current teammates and enjoys being a 4th grader (which is still a good 5 or so years before colleges come snooping around), you can stay HOME, spend quality time OUTSIDE of soccer so she doesn't get burned out by her parents, and let her enjoy where she is at so she doesn't lose her desire to play...just another opinion...

Too many fools are not brave enough to change when they can waiting for a miracle to happen on their team that is not improving. They stick to a coach full of excuses for misguided loyalty even tho they could help their kid. If a kid is not challenged because she is clearly the best on a mediocre team, shame on parents that don\'t make the decision and advance her. But but but she has friends! Sometimes making new friends is a good thing and expands her world people. Surprise, the next team has good DDs too, and better soccer.
