Lucy, your posts have been way too sensible so far. You really need to work on that if you continue posting on here!
Soccerdad, I agree with you, but for some reason posts, negative mostly, tend to center around Texans teams. The Bennett parents seem to be good people and I like their commitment to staying together.

There should be a live broadcast of the game for all those who want to watch but aren't out there.

10. Where in the world is Sting Searls? Often talked about but not playing this weekend / next weekend either? What's up in that camp?
9. Nothing whatsoever wrong with Sting Dunstan. Won the games they were supposed to win and only gave up 2 to in form Polaris and 1 to Moreno.
8. DT Moreno did not prove that it deserves to stay in the top 10 but 1-0 vs Polaris and a dominant second place finish makes me think they are in the top 12. Good team short of bodies. Can they land enough quality girls to fill the roster remains the question.
7. Polaris made a strong case they deserve to be in the top 10. 4 and 0 with no goals allowed is a strong argument. Has speed too.
6. Defeeters had a tough weekend but heard they came to play against Dynamo so the jury is out. Next weekend at Liverpool tourney will be the test. Don't want two rough weekends in a row.
5. FCD Renfro is a feisty rough and tumble team every time out. If they figure out how to score more...
4. Solar Dynamo can beat anybody on a given night. Great passing & calm on the ball but need more consistency.
3. The SRSA Webb team will stay top 3 and coaching change will probably help. Solid and tough with some difference makers.
2. FCD Premier Grubb is my pick for the current king of the mountain with DT Higg playing boys and 01 teams. They move the ball and have dominating players too.
1. The 02 division has a lot of good teams near the top. Might be the best 1-10 in a number of years. When DT Higg decides to come back and prove that that team is numero uno, they may do it but it won't be a cake walk.

I did not notice an overabundance of Higgy players. I know they used their keeper and I saw two of the Rowdie stand out girls from way back. Both dominant players but were out often and at times in defensive positions.NoReallyNotDM wrote:That's what she said wrote:Dynamo 1 - 0 over Renfro

Higg? Was it that noticable they were stacked with higg players?

My understanding is that the new coach was trying to see where they were with their own players as much as possible, I respect that a lot!
The times I have met Ms. Moreno, she has come across to me as a straight shooter, not worried about impressing others or trying to win just to keep a certain ranking. She seemed to just want to teach girls a better game of soccer and she also seemed not impressed by a girl's talent as much as how hard the girl is willing to work to improve herself and use her talent. I think any girl will be a lucky player to be under this coach. IMHO.

Good stuff Java - sounds like you had quite a full weekend.
Here we go:
3. Dynamo is going to have a good spring season. Good passing and good control. Can't finish though!
2. FCD is a solid team all around. I'm especially impressed with their defenders. They will remain a top 3 team. I saw some of the Game against Webb. Alays an epic battle. They are so evenly matched. I look farward to many great battles. Higgs- That seems to be a mystery to me. I thought he was the new Asst Coach at TCU. I think there will be a new coach. There is some stalling going on. They are a physical team with good talent also. However, FCD and Webb are better IMO.
1. Just like everyone has their preference, I'm a fan of Webb 02. They have some great difference makers, and with a new coach, I think they will only get better. This is why I think they will hold on their Top spot.
All and all, it is going to be a great season.
Good Luck Webb!

6-0 Moreno over Vigil on the tourney website. Vigil should plummet out of the top 20 based on last two weeks. Too many other teams rising. BUT I WONDER ABOUT VIGIL FBR RANK ANYWAY. DT Vigil has stayed up a long time for few wins but 02Dad's DD is on Vigil. DT South is the clear #2 Texans team, DT Moreno is #3, and DT Vigil is #4.

I doubt it as the FBR software system relies heavily on strength of the opponents played. You can lose to teams ranked better than you and not lose ground because the software expects you to lose those games anyway. So if you are careful in picking your games, you can stay up in the rankings.
There is no penalty that I know of for playing up, but there are major risks when playing lesser-ranked competition. If a team wants to move up significantly, it is forced to enter tournaments and get placed in brackets where it plays against teams ranked much higher in FBR.

DT Moreno and Vigil are not top 15 teams. With higg players yes but with no higg girls. They will fall out top 15 easy.OOrah wrote:happygilmore wrote:Maybe I missed it but what was the score of the Moreno and Vigil game. Please show me where a Vigil member has claimed to be DT's second best team? I will be happy to explain the situation to them to clear things up. Someone may have said, but I dont see it coming from our team, that if Bennett folds we would be red team. That is VERY different than being their second best 02 team.
We had a very bad tournament this weekend, absolutely, we will be working very hard to not let that happen again. Reminder we won Summer Shootout and we went to playoffs in DT tourney with Polaris and got down to shoot out for them to advance. ( and we did that with less Bennett players than they used guest players yesterday, of which they had no choice due to their low roster at this time) all of those Bennett and Higg girls are excellent players each and everyone of them but it just proves you can not just shove great players together and expect them to instantly play well together. That being said by the last game of the tourney they seemed to have had it all figured out and tore up that turf big time!

Probably a little bit of homerism here, but I wouldn't call Feet's performance a "tough weekend." They had a win and a draw against two teams with higher FBR rankings. They clearly weren't as good this weekend as Grubb and the team formerly known as Webb - no excuses - but such is life with 9-10 DDs: Webb beats Feet, Feet beats Dynamo, Dynamo beats Webb.
Grubb on the other hand is IMO a different level from any other 02 team: tough, athletic, skilled, well-coached and consistently ready to play. Since they also seem to steer clear of much of the soap opera that plays out on this forum, they seem to be the team to beat.

For clarification purposes, the spring season has started yet. I disticntly remember Webb going to the Texans Tourney beating Grubb and Higgs to win the title. They ended the fall season on top. This was a friendly tournament with no bearing on the spring season. We all have our opinions. I'm just sayin.Webb beat Grubb at the end of the fall season and they tied in this tourney. Looks like Webb may be the team to beat....

I can respect your opinion. These are two talented teams. I think Webb has handed Grubbs a few more losses. I do agree that Grubb is more consistent at this point and I can chalk that up to coaching. Can't wait to see what the spring brings.
