02 FBR.

I've had one too many people accuse me of artificially inflating or deflating a team.

If I was completely anonymous perhaps I would continue but there are many people on here who know me personally and I'm not comfortable being associated with something that some accuse me of manipulating.

I'm sorry to the people who enjoyed the data but it's not fun anymore. I followed the 01's pretty close last year and I don't recall bwgophers having this issue. Perhaps the 02 crowd has more jackasses than the 01's. Who knows...

I will continue to track the data but I won't be sharing anymore.

Man... that is too bad. I really appreciated the hard work you put in. What a shame folks... shame on those that accused him of such behavior.

Sorry 02dad for all those who disrespect someone volunteering their time and efforts to provide some entertainment and perspective for us soccer junkies. Please continue the rankings and everyone who is being absurd and rude to 02dad should apologize and quit bothering him. He has explained time and time again how things are done. Do your own if you don't like what he is doing for everyone and quit being a bunch of ninnies about ranking. Computer generated, and calculated so sit back and if you don't like how your team is ranked go win some games against the teams listed above you then you will get a better ranking. otherwise SHUT UP AND QUIT RUINING EVERYONE'S FUN!

As a watcher of the FBR I truly love it at hope you would reconsider. In the 01 class it ended up being correct for about 27/30 if I recall. Which is over time. In short moments it was off but that's the way things go. It is designed to get more and more accurate based on more data. Don't let a couple of yahoos ruin the fun and the normal banter over the issue. If you let them change you as George Bush once said the terrorists win. It's a war in north Texas soccer to get rid of the Taliban that want everything their way. Keep fighting the good fight.

Don't want to speak for mslater and bwgophers but if I remember correctly, they had plenty of naysayers, accusers, and doubters... Also, most people knew who they were and with which teams their DDs were/are associated.

Someone needs to carry on the torch that they started for '02s and other ages... This is for entertainment only. The way I see it, those whiners are a part of the entertainment

I will throw in another support to say I like your efforts and the FBR, and I would ask you to continue as well. Ignore the 3-4 people trying to ruin it for all. It seems to be the same few posters, over and over, all with some axe to grind. Let the bad apples keep chirping, no one cares what they say anyway. The sensible majority know how to read the FBR as an informative guide and entertainment. Bias in a for fun, computer ranking for 9-10 year old soccer? Really, for what reason? It's not the multi-million $$ college football BCS, only for information and entertainment. It is fun to see what teams are where as the season moves along.

I already posted this last week as the sharks were on a "complaining feeding frenzy", and I could see this coming, see below from last week.

02Dad - thank you for the FBR poll, please continue to publish for the majority that can read it, take in the information with a grain of salt, and move on to the next thing in our busy day.

Stay strong man - I need my FBR fix. Everyone knows that OOrah, who accused you of bias towards your DD's team (and the other jackasses in our 02 parent pool), can't turn on a computer or even spell FBR, so ignore them. Please continue shaking and baking!

I get it that I will be painted as the bad guy for life here. The true problem is lack of visibility. Don't see the numbers that go in. That is a big issue. Don't see the inner workings of the magic ratings blackbox. The person in charge of the magic ratings hides their ID and then quits asap when it comes public. Why quit then? Yeah, paint me as the bad guy for not putting ricky bobby on the pedestal but not questioning the magic and motives is stupid. I get that everyone would rather have it than not. No more questions from me Yall can be happy now.

Are you kidding me? It's rankings! It's for fun! Lack of visibility? The guy has explained it a million times. Don't like where your team is ranked? Do your own rankings and quit accusing people of manipulating rankings.

That's the point, this is isn't a govt conspiracy cover up. Just a computer ranking for 9-10 year old, girls soccer teams. Just don't read it if you don't like it. It has been explained many times. Buy the software yourself if you want to see how it works to that detail.

The rankings are for fun!

If you follow 02 soccer it is easy to see, the top four teams usually beat everybody else and lose to each other, the next 10 or so teams beat most of the teams below them, lose to each other and struggle with the top 4 teams. The next 15 or so teams are very competitive with each other, fight very hard against the middle 10 and struggle against the top 4.

Where in each group each team falls doesn’t really matter. Ultimately it is about moving up into the next tier and competing with teams your team has historically struggled with, that is growth. Whether or not 12 is better than 10 is far too complicated than a statistical equation. Was it an early game, late game, did they have school, was the whole team there, was there guest players, was someone not feeling well, was there a sleep over the night before, are her shoes too tight, is there a birthday party after the game, is this the 5th game in two days, do they perform under pressure, and where is the pressure coming from – mom dad teammates coaches. Stick all that in and add the fact that they are 10 and now you have a true ranking system but until then lets have some fun with what we have get over yourself, I bet your daughter doenst even care as much as you do about the ranking system.

If you don’t like the rankings, download the program yourself, input the data, and start your own thread.

I appreciate everything you have done 02Dad, i would like to ask you to continue. There may be a few who dont agree but there are far more of us that look forward to your efforts.

If 02Dad is still willing to do all of the grunt work, I am willing to step in and be the impartial filter to review and post the rankings on a weekly basis.

02Dad - just send me your ranking file each week and I will post the output.

I have no skin in the '02 game. My youngest is an '01.

The data will have passed through an impartial review by someone who has full knowledge of the SW. The naysayers can take me on all they want.
