05 Pre-Season Rankings!

Alright, let's see if we can get a little more participation on the 05 board, and maybe even pull some "lurkers" out of the woodwork.

There are a few leagues that teams are playing in, so we'll have some with head to head competition, and others we'll wing it! Thanks to FriscoSoccer05 for pulling the 42 team list, most of which I don't know.

Let's see if we can keep this civil, have fun and we'll all remember that the athlete DD's are only 6-7 years old.
With risk of getting clobbered by those that will criticize human rankings, I'll take the first stab at it. I'm only going to rank the ones I’ve seen results for, so feel free to add where you feel others fit.

2. Dallas Kicks (Played fall as Wizards; may be #1)
3. LP Hyypia
4. Solar Red
5. DT South
6. DT (Moreno)
7. LP Rush
8. Sting West (Davis)
9. Celtic FC (Played fall as Tx Spirit)

12. DT (Torres)

14. TFC 05 (Garrett)

I may be way off with some of these team, especially if they were short players that were playing up in the tourneys.

The top 5 are all very close and could beat one another on any day. The may tournament season should be fun.

I would put Cosmos up there, they beat Celtic and lost in third place game by only one to sting west.

Hard to say that Kicks is top 2 as they have not played any tourney's lately that I am aware of, but I do know they are a very strong team.

I would probably say top 3 are:
#1 Lady Aztecs (They deserve this spot until Hyypia, Kicks, DT South takes it away from them)
#2 Hyypia (Lost to LA last two tourneys in very close games, they have played in but found a way to get to finals both times)
#3 Kicks FC or DT South

The Wonderful thing is with the majority of the top teams playing EAL, we will get a great look at who has what (Without Guest players and the like)

Too bad Hyypia isn't playing EAL. Would have made for some additional great matchups. Looks like they're playing up in SDL with 04. Don't know much about the 04 group, but looks like there are quite a few teams playing SDL.
Solar Red stayed in the 05 grouping in SDL...looks like there are only 5 teams.

Back in January there was a 4 way scrimmage between Kicks FC, Hypia, DT South, and Aztecs. Kicks showed up with 7 girls to play 3 back to back games (rather shocking to say the least).

First game: Kicks FC 05 2-1 over Aztecs
Second game: Kicks FC 05 3-0 over DT South
Third game: Kicks FC 05 1-2 Hypia (Kicks had more shots on goal, but the kids were just gassed and couldn't finish).

Kicks played November McKinney primetime tournament in the 04 bracket vs DT Rowdies, Fever 04 Red, and DT North. Let's just say, they represented themselves great for an 05 group of girls (they may have had 1 04 girls, though. Not certain of this).

Top 4 teams


1a. Kicks (Mean as snot and can move the ball.)
1b. Aztecs (see above. In addition, they have numbers.)
3. Hypia (massive legs. The sleeping giant.)
4. DT South (More athletes than you can count.)

The rest have not proven themselves against this group. Next group in no particular order:

Texas Moreno, Liverpool-Rush, Sting West, Solar Red.

However, these are 7 year old girls, any one can lose on any particular day.

You can get pretty good rankings with a statistical model using strength of schedule and goal differential. Will need as many games results as possible to get most accurate results. Prefer to grab all scores off the web if possible.

Already have 87 games from:
> PT Fall 2011 season
> Freedom Cup (Feb 2012)
> PT Winter Blast (Feb 2012)
> PT Thanksgiving (Nov 2011)
> PT Kick Off (Aug 2011)

This is what I'm missing to generate good results:
> SDL Fall results
> DIAL Fall results
> any other academy tournaments starting from Aug 2011 that were not listed above

Does anybody have SDL Fall or DIAL Fall results? Any other academy tournament I missed? If so, please post the link to the results or post all the scores in a spreadsheet. I can download, run the statistical model, and post results. Going forward, I'll gather up scores weekly and post new rankings.

You should include the 05 league at PSA. If for any reason there are several teams playing there that are also playing in the Sunday leagues. So games there would hold merit for teams in that league.

I am updating the 05 GIrls Master Sheet will upload a new version shortly... now that schedules are out we have where everyone is playing!

As far as Fall scores that will be tough if not impossible, we can probably get a few but not many.
