Polaris Rumor!

Anybody know if the rumor about Polaris moving to FC Dallas with the mighty Eloyd Rangel is true? If it is, that could be something to keep an eye on.

I haven't heard anything about this rumor. However, if Eloyd is going to be the director then this would be a win-win for the team. He's excellent in recruiting and developing competitive teams. It would be nice to have another great club from the southern sector of the metroplex.

I heard the move was orchestrated by one over involved dad, that was sneaking around behind the coach's back, trying to get the team moved to any club that would take them. Am told that the parents that are holdouts, are very uncomfortable with the way the whole thing transpired.
This team may not be around by QT. Look for DTS to come in and steal some players.

I hate it when one parent causes trouble like this. If you're not happy with the coaching or club then move on.
Don't try to steal the team and move them to another club.

I agree. Too bad for AF. If the parents think that team will stay together. They are dead wrong. It will not be the same. Unless the coach went with them. The Polaris team seemed to be coming along and learning as the weeks went on. I hope AF has learned from this and moves on and makes a note of. How one manager/parent can be a snake in the grass. Just to get his dues paid. This was a lateral move that makes the manager/parent have a questionable character. Actually it was a backwards move.

This is why I would not have a manger in Academy!

Eloyd may be a good or bad person, I do not know; Amos is a great guy and has put his heart and soul into this group and the parents should be ashamed of themselves and in the end the one who orchestrated this move should be run out of town on a rail.

It's unfortunate. It's not the first and probably not the last.
That parent needs to know that the soccer community is a small world and word travels.

My buddies DD is that team and they have 13 committed on the team as of right now. That is fact! All this other stuff is complete RUMOR and nonsense.

The parents can clarify that on the forum if they choose to, just adding what I know is fact. The parents made the decision, not the manager.

Is Coach Rangel going to actually coach these girls? I ahve reffed a lto games with his teams, but have not ever reffed a girls team with him as coach. He does get a lot out of his kdis though, although he can get vdery load.
Also, in a related note, I drive by the Polaris complex in arlington every day, adn there seems to be soem construction going on between the fields and the road. Anybody know wht is going up? Maybe bathrroms or an ATM?

Call your buddy and ask why did they decide to leave? Because everything seemed well at the Polaris camp! But then again. That is how a snake likes to do things. Oh well not my battle. I just hope that snake does not get in my back yard.

Well, I'm sure the Ex-Polaris parents will be on soon enough to answer any questions. I suppose all the parents are "Snakes" becuase they all left together. Your only recieving one side of the story. Very Happy

They left together because 5-6 didnt know what else to do, stay and you have no team-go and you are in a familiar setting and know where you stand. In that area there are not so many choices of good clubs. South appears full. For a coach who committed fully to that team (played in two leagues and many tournments and brought them up to top ten or close) it really is disrespectful.Many teams beg coaches to do extras and in my opinion he was always willing to do extra skills, tourn.,, 3on3 tournaments,indoor, clinics, team parties-you name it. I'm sure he'll bounce back, good people usually do.

I don't think the coach will rebuild a team in this age group. I hope some other lucky age group will benefit from his coaching. Too much drama going on here to put up with this kind of non sense IMO!

yes he was..... along with the former mgr who was let go months ago. That's a fact and the whole Polaris crew knows it. Funny that they (old mgr) would end up joining back up on same team if she had not hand in this. Bottom line is AF tried to make the team better through coaching, playing a lot of soccer and some recruiting. Some people dont like the fact that new girls were brought in from time to time to see if they would be a good fit for the team, they were intimidated by competition.. Parents rallied to cause trouble and some left because the majority left and they would be out in the cold without a team if they stayed. I'd say 3/4 girls might have shot at better teams if willing to travel -STING , FEET, FEVER all looking to add.
