Klein Oak keeper has been VERY aggressive all half and taking HUGE chances...it ends up biting her with less than a minute until half as she gets caught in no-man's land at the 25+ yard line of the football field (35-40 yards from goal?). Touch is made to the left and Tori Gates from West gets just enough on it to roll one in from 20-30 yards out. 2-0 West at halftime.

P.S. Karson Keough converted the PK for the first goal.

I caught myself and corrected my language (before I saw your post) when I was posting the goal on the Houston board. Thanks for the clarification. I've also been told that there's no "box", but I refuse to give up on that one since it's so commonly used/understood. Smile

Plano West defeats Klein Oak 2-0 in first semi. Will play winner of Katy Seven Lakes/San Antonio Churchill in State Final on Saturday. Good game played by West. Congratulations to the girls and their fans.

guess all that fretting about seeding and re-seeding didnt really matter anyway. winning the games in order to be crowned champs actually holds true.

Never any fretting... They aren't my team, although I do wish them success. I just didn't understand why the reseeding was done and how it was done didn't seem to make any logical sense initially. That was all.... Fortunately, you set things straight.

However, I'm still not sure that reseeding is a good idea regardless at the state tournament level. I also still think that Plano West and Klein Oak should have played in the final...even though I understand why they didn't.

Seven Lakes scores off a corer kick that was headed in during 4th minute of play. 1-0 over Churchill at the half in the 2nd 5-A semifinal.

Am I the only one who likes the dribble up PK's. I was a goalkeeper im sure most of you know that by now. Id much rather the forwards have to dribble up much better way in my opinion to decide game winners compared to penalty kicks. At least goalkeeper and fwd have a more even chance. Fwd still has advantage but as a keeper prefer the dribble ups.

Is that HP normal keeper? Looked a bit shaky at times. They will be tough to beat though. Strong backline.
