My guess is that games will be played. The ground was dry before the rain so it can absorb some water. Second, there are a relatively low number of games scheduled with 28 on Saturday and 18 games on Sunday which would equate to about 2 games per field on Saturday and less than 2 games per field on Sunday.

If the fields were not playable tomorrow, would they move both semi's and finals to Sunday?

Moving the semis for the younger age groups to Sunday would be a possibility. For the U18 and U19 there are only the finals left which are on Sunday.

They are actually updating the rules that if there is rain, winners will be determined alphabetically.

looks like we are going to get to play. I live pretty darn close to Richland and the ground didn't get enough water to soak up in my neighborhood. There are still cracks in the yards.

Seems like there are a lot fewer State Cup posts with the departure of the ECNL parents....

Does that mean State Cup is no longer relevant and NTSA by association as well? I've noticed
that they are a bunch nicer at their office than they use to be.

someone mentioned this very subject at our ECNL game yesterday, and the consenus was that LHGCL and State Cup were 'diluted' and not as meaningful with the departure of so many ECNL players.

I had posted recently myself that since State Cup allowed 'guest players' (the ECNL players) that it really wasn't the same anymore.

Like it or not, I think it has changed the face of soccer for North Texas, and from what I hear from D1 college coaches, ECNL is the place to be for exposure to them.

I still believe there are some good players in LHGCL, but the teams as a whole are not what they used to be.
