06' How are the teams feeling about their respective leagues?
06' How are the teams feeling about their respective leagues?
*5 Teams are in the Gold division: Dallas Texans Torres, Solar Red Web, Sting West, Fever United, GSSC.
*Games are competitive. Fever is just getting started and probably should not be in Gold. Nevertheless, Fever has good group!
*Fields are in good condition and not too big.
*3 Refs per game.
*Grapevine is a haul, but traffic on Sunday is light and taking "Bass Pro" coming from Dallas is great as you avoid construction.
Overall, Hat's off to Primetime!

Fair point that scores do not indicate a competitive division. But, when you are 6 & 7,IMO, games generally seem closer as the goals tend to occur over time, not all at once. I view the fall season as an opportunity for the teams to establish "who's who" in the divisions and in the spring the leagues will be much more competitive b/c teams will seek out the appropriate level of competition and leagues to play.

One big black mark for PSA - IMO, they should not alter the schedule by adding in another team from the lower division once the season is already 25% complete. They changed 3 of our gametimes yesterday, and we are not even playing the added team.
We will not be going back to PSA in the spring, probably either UAL or SDL.

Yeah... we have an 07 team PSA moved up to 1st Grade Rec Red, and then moved Cosmos up to Academy. Guess they won to big(8-0???) in their first 1st grade game, and we won too big(15-0) in our Kinder game... Didn't realize PSA was so thin skinned that they had to mess with everyone's schedule.

I agree they should not be changing schedules once its set, but I can see where it may be warranted.

My point was PSA(or parents) is(are) thinned skinned.... in Allen Rec not uncommon at all for a rec team to get beat 15-2, but no one gets moved.

It is not productive to either team to be involved in that kind of game giving or receiving the beating.
The goal is make the game a learning tool and equal competition is usually best for this.

DALLAS TEXANS 06G NORTH
FC FRISCO XTREME FC XTREME 06G
LIVERPOOL FOWLER
LIVERPOOL FC REDS 06G SMITH
MUTINY FC 06G
SOLAR CHELSEA 06 KOVARIK
TEXAS FOOTBALL TFC '06 GIRLS ANGELL
They are only 06's, and one or two girls can dominate a game, but the game play is enjoyable and fairly matched.

Sounds like a competetive league. Any idea on field dimensions and goal sizes? It would be nice to have a well balanced league for 8-10 teams to play this spring.

Field is 40X60.. not sure on goals, but big if i had to guess 7X18? Guessing on goal size but much bigger than what PSA plays for the same age.
This is my first go round with UAL, seems good, some newer teams are in league that haven't been around tool long. They didn't cancel last weekend(9 days ago) when it rained a bit. Craig ranch has ample parking on Sundays, not a lot going on out there.

U8 Gold in Primetime has been great so far for Kicks SC 06. Big, fast, physical girls for our 06s to play against.

Honestly, I do not know the division yet as it is very early and, as you know, these 6 & 7 years are very unpredictable. I think when the fall leagues end the top teams from the various leagues will be known. I would imagine those team will want to play the other top teams. The interesting thing is there are some really good coaches in the division. So the teams that may not finish in the top 3 of their league now, may look completely different come the spring.
Here are the teams that I know of that are strong (in no specific order):
- Kicks 06 (not sure if you guys have a full 06 team or blended w/07 or 05, but good nonetheless)
- Texans Torres 06
- Solar Red Webb
- Tristan Abbott's team (have not seen play but very good coach)
- Solar McDaniels (loss some key players this fall, but is a good team & coach)
My 2cents.

I would add Kicks North 06 on that list. Team is fun to watch and coming together nicely!
So will the other " top" 06s play up in the Spring?
