Congratulations 08 Pink Ponies!

I just wanted to say "well done" to the U-Whatever Pink Ponies for winning their first game on Saturday to the Buzzing Bumblebees. It was a hard fought match on the 20x40 yard field, especially with two coaches in the way. For the record, Bumblebees went 6-0-2 last season in OIPSA (Overly Involved Parent Soccer Association) so this was a big game for the Ponies that featured a final score of 12-8.

Of course, I realize none of the players even know this forum exists - because they can't read yet - but the parents do. And that's what matters, dammit. Where better to congratulate a soccer team after a weekend game than among other parents doing the same, right? Watch out, PPL 2, the Pink Ponies are for real!

It was too windy for Bumblebees and they were distracted by the moms and their "Pony Power" chant and vuvuzelas. We had one out because her allergies acted up in the wind, and another who "missed her Nana" and didn't have her usual razor focus. I heard from a friend of a friend whose daughter goes to school with a girl who knows the coaches daughter that the Ponies ponied up and collected a "guess" player. Any word on that??

See! That's exactly the type of response I would expect from a Bumblebees parent! I'm surprised you didn't create a new username to post it. Everyone knows your coach doesn't develop anyway. It's all about recruiting and wins. The Pink Ponies coach has had 4 of the 8 girls under his direction since they were U3. Go spew your sour grapes elsewhere. Can't these babies... um, I mean... little girls just enjoy their hard earned victory? (Again, I know that part about them not being able to read yet may seem contradictory since I've posted the results in writing; but that's not the point.)

You borrowed our star forward from the Sharktooth Shooters. She scored 9 of your 12 goals. Without her your team would not have scored. You also didn't mention most goals were scored when the fire truck was going by and distracted our goalie and defender. Wont happen again.

Your fire truck excuse just reminded me of the best way to deal with the ice cream van/vendors at the field. Here is a key coaching tip: you have to make up a team fight song, and then teach it to your team, sung to the melody of "It's a Small World" (or whatever song is most prominent among the ice cream trucks at your local fields). Then when the ice cream guy shows up with than annoying music, it will inspire your team and keep them focused. I think this could help the Bumblebees in the rematch.

Give me a break. That girl was playing with our team even when they in the Soccer Tots program at The Spectrum under the name Training Pants Tirade. Remember us then? We went undefeated that season. Besides, the star forward is currently rostered (playing up) on four U9 teams and the parents are sneaking her into ODP sessions on the weekends with her older sister. It's not like there's an allegiance. NOTE TO MODERATOR: Please ban JJ4Mel for discussing a specific player!

This is just more jealousy from Sharktooth Shooters. The Pink Ponies have already been offered a $5 a month discount to join Liverpool, the name "Dallas Texans Magenta Northeast" if we take them there, and a free charcoal grill by Kicks for the parent bonding sessions in the parking lot. Don't hate us because we're climbing to number 28 on the FBR Rankings.

It seems that everyone on this forum has completely discounted the little ladybugs! Yes they are playing U10 boys and therefore can't earn FBR points, but instead of being given the credit they so deserve they are accused of dodging the competition. If you want to play the best we'll still be in the YCTTL (You Can't Touch This League) waiting

It is widely known that the Sharktooth Shooters forward left that team for ours when her coach made the Shooters do 50 consecutive laps after they tied Dora's Explorers. It is unbeleivable that anyone would think we recruited her.

While we are on the topic I would like to take this time to let everyone know exactly how we acquired our goalkeeper. There are rumors out there about her recruitment, but I can assure you she came on her own. We realize that we may not keep her long seeing as this is her 9th team since she started, but we are going to ride her ability all the way to the top 40 in the FBR. Can anyone confirm that she is now enrolled in 2 a day skills on Sunday with the Dynamite Daisies Coach? I just know he is trying to steal her. We can sense a little frusration in her parents since she is no longe allowed to punt the ball. Our coach thinks her half field punts are going to give our team a reputation as a non skilled team that has no focus on development.

Gophers?? Isn't there an advanced metric used to convert playing up boys scores figured into those rankings??

Also, I hear that SS's aunt may know our coach a little...do you hear buzzing?? That's right, next tournament we may a see a little sting back on our sideline...

And the ladybugs-ha! I hear that they aren't playing in all 4 leagues on Saturdays this spring...can you say ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT! Ridiculous, those parents thinking they will still be top 10 when we go select in a decade...

I have one, but it requires a dual PhD in Astrophysics and High Energy Particle Physics to fully grasp it's artistic and cosmic symmetry. Your star goal keeper is severely overrated. I didn't want to have to go there, but you've forced my hand. She's inconsistent - plain and simple - and you can't have inconsistencies among the top 08's and have a future. Remember this episode of the goals she gave up against the Scratchin' Muskrats? There were even rumors at the end of the game that "she" was actually a "he". What kind of program are you guys running over there?

OHHH, you did have the video evidence of the offsides in that game...where is the rest of tape XARA? If you remember correctly, that game was the one that we protested...dead player...off the post..."inadvertant" whistle from your general direction...and the video proof goes missing. That cost our team $50 in protest and cost us the trophy that season.

Classic Xara as a fan of PPL 2 fighting a scraping to get out of PPL 2 thanks for the warning us of the Pink Ponies hopefully we will be long gone from PPL 2 before they allow them to play up. But now that PPL 2 is now really the second half of division 1 it looks like the Pink ponies will have to work hard at qualifiers to get into PPL 2 and may be relegated to Division IV.

FIrst of ALL let me just say I have no dog in this fight. I can nt believe that you people have SO much time that you come here to MAKE FUN of 4 year old girls who played theyr hearts out. I dont have an 08, I dont have a DD and I dont like sOccer but I spend all day sat watching all u8 games. Those Buzzing Bumblebees 08s who practice in Colleyville at Busy Bee soccer complex with coach Mike Smith seem very talented, a great group of kids and parents. If I had a kid, or even a dog, I'd definitely go check them out. But, I don't.

The 09 Sassy Cats called. They said you suck. (Not Jessica because her mom told her that's rude and probably a euphemism.)

Any time your prissy 08s want to step it up in the big time 11v11, full 45 min pro halves, bring it. We've been playing up for 3 years. We know what time it is.

The 10s are waiting too. It's currently a travel team to get some decent competition. We'll play 08s. Heck, we'll even play 03s. Anything to stay ahead.

I didn't attend the game, so I don't have a dog in this fight either, but I heard the ref missed a lot of calls and that negatively impacted the way the Beez wanted to play. (At our house we call the Buzzing Bumblebees the "Beez" to save time because we talk about them so often.) It sounds to me like the ref may have left that field with some extra coin in his pocket!

Rumor at the Pre-school was the 'Beez' are having internal issues as well. I guess Suzie is getting extra playing time now(even though she can't kick the ball) at the same time her mom has been wearing low cut tops and, again just Pre-School rumors, but the mom and coach have been getting extra 'ball skills' work on the side..especially because Valentine's was last week. I hear the mom is quite skilled.

Just wait until the 09 Oklahoma based Pink Scorpions come down and put a whoopin on all y'all North Texas folk. You just think you know how to kick it long to the fast forwards - wait until you see little Emma Kate toe punch that ball 20 yards with her custom made pink Umbro cleats- it will give you a whole new respect for 4 yr old athletic ability.

We have a mini bus ready -pre equipped with 10 car seats and iced juice boxes - if any of you want to have a little throw down scrimmage. Just say the word - we can be there later today!

None of this matters anymore.

I have been told by someone who knows a reliable source that the Beez are now Liverpool. What put LP over the top from the other offers on the table was the promise of getting a "British" sounding coach and the possiblity of a unique 4 letter acronym.

A few of the starter parents were not as excited as they are concerned about the lack of ECNL opportuntiy which any good 08/09 parent is considering at this time.

I hear there is already an overseas trip in the works.

In full disclosure.....The 08' Pink Ponies are really a 10' South Dallas Team who used the the alias of Pink Ponies to escape all of the scrutiny that typically comes our way when we win tournaments under our club name. Furthermore, our 10's destroyed any and all 08's that dared to get on the field and try to compete. We feel it's necessary to thank all of the parents on the sidelines for the great instruction our players received during the games. Also we'd like to thank all of the other "Pony" teams for showing their support by attending the games. Every team from the 94's to the 09's showed up with their "Ponies" shirts on!!! The Soccer Style the "Pink Ponies" use is: Coach teaches Parents and Parents coach Kids during games. Anyone have a problem with that you need to call the Head Coach!

Like many of you, I have no dd on any of the teams mentioned so far and don't otherwise know anything about 08 soccer. I was watching my 07 guest play for the FBR 8th place Princessettes in what was to be her fourth game of the day at the field next to the one where the Ponies and Bumblebees were playing. It was 11:04 am as I recall.

I turned around just in time to see number 46 of the Ponies - the tall, brown haired girl with the initials J.D. and who always plays with different colored socks - pull an L-turn followed by a dual-scissors against number 00 of the Bumblebees - the shorter, blonde haired girl who always wears pigtails with green ribbons and whose last name is similar to S-E-N-O-J. Anyway, number 46 ripped a ball from around 60 yards out on the 20x40 field and bent it into the top left corner of the two flags that were used represent a goal. She's amazing. That girl's parents must love her far more than any of the rest of you to have the child in two-a-day private skills at such an early age. Of course, I just guessing on that.

But since this has gotten so out of hand, I'm calling out dadof3 who is really Sam Johnson. Isn't that right, Sam. Wasn't it you, Sam, that was cussing at the ref and running up and down the sideline like a crazed lunatic? Congratulations, Sam Johnson, for ruining it for your daughter. She'll be burnt out by age 6.

Wait Just a minute Xara...My DD is #00 for the Bumblebees. She was only covering a mark #46 because the other players aren't smart enough or skilled enough to understand zone coverages. She was having to cover or defend in a 3 on 1 situation, which on most days is NOTHING for her!! We guested as a favor, and will do a better job of evaluating the talent on any other team we decide to guest play for in the future. Just so you know, my DD has been asked by every team in the Gold Division to guest at her own age and the two age groups above.

Leave my #46 out of THIS. She has enough pressure attending her two a day privates, getting her HGH treatments and nightly jump rope workout.

When I read this forum to her later tonight before bed, I do not want the take away being that everyone is watching her and other teams are "marking" her. I mean she is only 3 and a half for Pete's sake...
