I am just shocked that the UIL finally figured out that all 8 regional finalists were from the Metroplex, boys and girls. Nice to see that missing school and travel expense was taken into consideration. Kudos to them.

I'm glad they made the change, but I do understand why the UIL started by scheduling regionals in a central location. After all, the region includes El Paso. They couldn't presume no team from west of the Pecos...much less no team west of Tarrant County...would make regionals.
Going 8 for 8 in regionals is a testament to how well the game is played, and how much it's valued, in this area. It's a great environment for soccer.
