AC Milan tried it against Barca in champions league. Didn't work.

I really hope kenn doesn't stack the box and comes out to play. You have to give hats off to spirit and scott. They came out no fear and win or lose they came to play. But if he does, oh well you have to learn to beat the stack too
What is stack the box?
WAIT!! I know this one!!! Stack the box = our defense is better than your offense... did I win? I could use a million dollars!!!
nope you didn't you got it wrong. Stack the box = your team is better than mine so I will close the game down to try and get a result. Chelsea used against Barca and it worked. Not great in youth soccer but it can get you a result in a game you may otherwise not win. It's not illegal but I would just prefer a open game.
Dang it! I should have used phone a friend... LOL...

Personally I'm not a big fan of scenario 1 or 2 at this age because I don't think it teaches the girls anything at this age. However no matter what coaches or parents say, winning matters to them so if there's a way that someone can get a win while not developing a kid they will do it because winning keeps parent$ around and it's a business at the end of the day.

If its not illegal, then maybe you should just go on and hope that Kenn doesn't play a goalie, or maybe just play with 10.

There are only 3 subs as long as everyone is accounted for
That makes sense. 3 subs for 11v11=5 for 9v9.
This team doesn't play 9v9.
Sorry. Assumed you were with Spirit.

I'm not associated with either team and I'm thinking about coming out to see this one as well... could be fun to watch...

GrandTXSoccer wrote:Quite honestly you generally see it happen in a few different scenarios, the first one is if you are severly out classed (happens to 03 SRSA quite a bit) and you want to try to only lose 6-0 vs 12-0 however you are willing to concede that you will not be scoring. Another scenario is if you are somewhat evenly matched but you know that your normal attacking style won't work and then leave you exposed, so you want to win but you are willing to play a very defensive game and then hope that you can get a ball cleared long and catch a break on the counter. The last scenario is late in a game and you are up by a goal and simply do not want anyone running free, so you cram the box with 9 girls and make moving the ball around pretty painful.

Yes, very good. Thanks for the clarification. So I'm probably going to need some help here. I'm assuming that Kenn "stacked the box" last time they played, and the game was scoreless and went to PKs? And Kenn won in PKs?

SK not given up goals, that's far from truth. I say total opposite. Maybe long game for them if they don't help out back on "D".

Good grief, which one is it. Should they play D or not. Seems to me like THIS team is the one in the no win situation.

If I remeber correctly Rase scored one (don't remeber how) and Kenn got the ball out to a forward who was fouled by my dd (bougus call, my little princess would bever foul anyone ) Long free kick that keeper failed to save. Could be wrong though that was awhile back
