NTSSA rule, 3.10.4
"Failure to comply with Rule 3.10.1 and/or Rule 3.10.2 may result in the offending coach, assistant coach, manager/trainer and/or team representative being suspended from soccer activities for a period of not less than one (1) year."

Your daughter will be escorted off the practice field by NTSSA Stormtroopers

Does not matter if the teams you are interested in practice on the same night. If you are leaving, you won't continue to practice with your team, though you still technically can since you paid for the training.

tryouts
Maybe they should be changed? who goes to NTSSA and asks to get the rules changed? Can a parent? A coach? a Club? a signed petition?
Most other states, and South Texas I think, every where else have Tryouts in May.
After State Cup- we should have 2 weeks of tryouts- everyone finds their new team etc. Sign contracts for the next year...order uniforms.....if u get cut go try to find another team.....and then when everyone finishes school in June 6ish everyone can go on vacation....everything is all done. Relax enjoy etc.
Also- All Leagues- Should have 2 up and 2 down every league, none of this kicking out 5-8 teams to requalify.... the bottom 2 have to have a tourney with the top 2 in the AL and the PL--- the leagues are just making money....and it causes all these teams to fall apart.... the boys side had it right....
Cmon everyone lets get it done. All the league games are done.....lets have tryouts in MAY MAY MAY MAY. Dont we all want to leave with our families in June and not have to worry about a team making or people committing to a team and lying to go to another one..... lets unite how do we change the rules!!!!!!

Re: release to practice with another team
Beware of what you wish for-- you may get it. Two weeks of tryouts in May is all good until your dd gets cut or her team breaks up and has to find a new team.
The contract protects both parents and the club, each providing specific comsideration to the other.. I understand folks want the freedom to do as they please with their dd and feel they shouldn't be burdened by obligation, but are they willing to give up the protection the contract provides their player? Making player movement easier may seem wonderful, but do you want your coach recruiting all year long? You want new players training with your team during the whole spring season, or your team's players off elsewhere?
It seems to me that too many parents want a full year commitment from their coach and team without giving it in return.

That's a scary scenario. Here's one that will have even the Storm Troopers running for cover:
Put the NTSSA rule book and a stack of releases in the shredder, moon the nearest LHGCL official, and take your dd to the Dark Side: ECNL.

Re: release to practice with another team
So if this is the decision your or your DD you best prepare for the change and get a bit aggressive with you activity/approach - you should be able to work toward a release to either play in a tour or to go out and practice. You will have burnt a bridge, a bit if they really want to keep you, and unless the coach can convince you to stay based on changes proposed (does not happen much). It is time to go. Once you DD is labeled in some coaches minds, it can be difficult to enable change. So a fresh start can be really good.
I think you should only approach team which have finished their season as there is less visibility or more flexibility. You should also wait until you season is over (sorry I did not see it in the thread).

The default freedom come end of May, but seriously if you have told your coach )do it in writing) your moving on and you all are finished with you season, the only reason they want you around is to show numbers at practices so they can recruit.... you should be able to get a release soon.

This is why you will not get it done. Some leagues, Arlington, Plano, Lake Highlands, Boys Classic, ect... do not wrap up their season until mid May and then they allow for rainouts.
Only an executive officer of a member association can present a rule or bylaw change to North Texas. Then it will be voted on at the yearly AGM at 8:00am on a Sunday morning after the member associations of North Texas have partied all night. Then North Texas will tell the roughly 500 voting delegates what they recommend and then there is a 95% probability the vote goes the way they recommended. In other words take it up with your local, GULP, rec association and don't hold your breath...
In terms of the relegation and promotion, those are Lake Highlands rules and have to be taken up with them. I am pretty shure if one is not a voting member of Lake Highlands Soccer Association, again rec coach, one has no avenue to bring rule or bylaw changes to their board. Technically even the clubs and coaches playing in the league do not have votes unless their teams register their players/coaches in Lake Highlands. You are beating a dead horse...
