Dallas Rush=More Competition =?
Last Updated on Monday, 03 June 2013 11:53
Rush Soccer is pleased to announce our newest domestic partner club, Dallas Rush!
Spearheaded by Ian Stover, Director of Soccer Operations, Chad Deering, Director of Coaching, and Thorston Schmugge, Technical Director, Dallas Rush will be a brand new club, gaining players from various soccer organizations throughout Northern Texas.
“When it came to choosing a club to partner with, choosing Rush was a no brainer,” says Stover. “We’ve seen Rush Soccer build a tremendous reputation internationally and become wildly successful based on their commitment to the Rush Way.”
Dallas Rush will hold tryouts in June and anticipates about 600 players by the fall. The organization is in the process of securing land for a brand new complex.
“Northern Texas is one of the most competitive soccer environments in the nation,” says Tim Schulz, President and CEO of Rush Soccer. “We are very excited to bring the Rush brand to this area.”
Due to the size and number of players in Texas, the State is split into Texas North and Texas South. The Dallas Rush will play in the Texas North Association while Texas Rush, based in Houston suburbs of The Woodlands, will continue to play in Texas South. The two clubs are separate entities but will no doubt enjoy the benefits of playing nearer to one another.
With the addition of Dallas Rush, Rush Soccer now has 30 US-based partner clubs. Welcome, Dallas Rush!

It seems like I've heard that somewhere before. Can anyone name a club that isn't in the process of securing land/training facilities?

Wondering the same thing ^^^ Too many teams already. This is why we have teams with core players then 2-5 guest players every week.

They must be planning on a mass exodus from somewhere, it's not like they hired the Pied Piper of youth soccer.

What is going to help them the most, is the fact that they will be building the best training facility in the state within the year somewhere around the 121 area. With plans to build another in Ft. Worth in a few years. Turf fields with a club house, pro shop, snack bar, 1k running track. All this while keeping their dues the lowest of the large clubs. What is going to make this work is the deep, deep pockets the investors have.

That was my thought too. How can they expect that many girls to just jump ship and gain releases if this doesnt come to fruition until fall? Girls arent going to hold out until then and not sign a contract come July 1 just to wait to go to Rush.
Hmm...something smells awfully fishy to me.

Their Houston teams are horrible. In ECNL Texas Conference, they are 9th in U18, 9th in U17, 7th in U16, 9th in U15 but 4th in U14.

Club Profile
Rush Nation is proud to announce the addition of the Dallas Rush Soccer Club to the family. Formed initially of many of the top coaches and teams in the area, we are anticipating over 300 players in July 2013, with age groups ranging from birth year 07 to 96. And we are anticipating the addition of many more teams and players by the Fall 2013 season.
Thorsten 'Toto' Schmugge played within the German National Team system as well as, several professional teams in the German Bundesliga. Toto recently came out of retirement to play for the Dallas Sidekicks in their relaunched 2012-2013 season. He brings his vast soccer knowledge and coaching prowess to Dallas Rush as our Technical Director. Toto has brought in Chad Deering as the Director of Coaching. Chad hails from the DFW area and is widely regarded as the top player ever produced by the Dallas area. After being named a Parade All-American, Chad attended Indiana University and then went out to play with the US Men's National Team. He was selected as an alternate on the 1994 World Cup Men's Team then played in the 1998 World Cup in France. Chad played professionally in the German Bundesliga as well before returning to the United States to play in MLS for the Dallas Burn. Chad also played for the Dallas Sidekicks this past seaosn with Toto. He brings over a decade of coaching experience in the youth ranks to Dallas Rush.
Dallas Rush has recently partnered with investors and have plans to build a state-of-the-art soccer facility with 10+ artificial hybrid fields, a 14,000 sq ft fully equipped clubhouse, and a stadium field. In the interim we will be training at locations from Lewisville to North Dallas to Allen. More details to come soon!
With the complex we have planned, we are determined to build a real "sense of club" and will be instituting a personal touch that is unique to any other organization in our area -- The Rush Way. We are committed to leaving a permanent, positive impact of every member we serve.

Formerly TFC. No hint as to whether this means more TFC teams to follow.
Boys' thread on this topic, including an explanation by the manager of the TFC team:

Hmmm. High initial outlay, low return. Sounds like alot of investors will be signing on.
