I think there are some salty teams in that mix. These are the two that I have seen recently that impressed me the last time I saw them. Of course, QT will be after NEW signings, but if these guys are intact, they are going to be some tough outs.

Are any teams known to be merging, folding or moving to other clubs? Are there any new independents?

I hear there may be some new teams...both independents and large clubs, and perhaps some existing LH teams that fold.  Of course, we all hear this constantly, so it isn't news until July 1 or shortly thereafter.  This conversation is a preliminary discussion to a preliminary discussion IMO.

Notice that I AM posting, so at least I am interested enough to bat it about.

Agreed dadof3, there is always interest in LH QT and to me at least, this is the highlight of summer tourney season.

Just looking at the list, a few teams rise to the top as favorites to take the win in whichever bracket. But as dadof3 mentioned, we will not know which teams come out of "silly season" alive to battle for the limited and coveted LHGCL Qualification spots. Wish we could speculate as to which teams will take their place at the tournament.

Even though I have no dog in this fight, i will probably go out to the field and watch the next iteration of classic league players transform.

Assuming there will be 5 slots available in D3, QT might have 5 brackets with bracket winners qualifying. The brackets would be 3 or 4 teams each depending on how many sign up. Brackets of 4 teams play 3 games and brackets of 3 teams play 2 games (as in the past). Regardless, bracket winners qualify. As long as we are speculating, here is a rough guess. More confident about the higher seeds than the lower seeds. Brackets are filled left to right by seed order, then traverse right to left and so forth. As examples, Fever would be a 5th seed and Gunners a 10th seed in the brackets below. Ok speculators, chew it up and offer your opinion.

Ok - looking at the rankings... I'll add my 2 cents.  It's worth what you paid for it.  LOL.. Assuming Abiliene does not want to drive to UTD and does not enter QTs, here it goes.  I say - 4 brackets - winner of each bracket and 1 wildcard based upon points earned.  Brackets filled in reverse after the top seeds are determined.

Again, Abilene SC finished Arlington #2 D1 and they would have been in Liverpools spot IMHO [but that would mean 1 five team bracket].  Of course, the last row is pure guess and this whole thing goes out the window if they use NTX Points/rankings from tournaments etc to figure out the last match-ups.

Not matter what - 3 things I do know:  1. It will be hot!  2. It will be intense.  3.  It will be interesting.

Here is my version of the Five bracket scenario - since that was the original speculation.  My only question of who would be the team placed into a four team bracket and which one?

Last year in the QT 4 teams earned in the first weekend, then second place teams played another bracket the final entry the next...depending on how many slots are available (the ECNL 5 plus a team or two that falls apart), there could be some changes on entries...there were some older brackets who played BOTH weekends anyway to qualify (they just dropped the ones who were NOT getting in after week one...

Also, if postings are believed...I can't imagine a second Ferretti team NOT trying QT (as well as any others not currently on the radar-another Sporting for '13??).

Agreed, it will be hot and intense, but it is QT...One of my 3 is going to join the fray this year, so we will be out again anyway!

Well dang it, I can't find last years QT brackets.  It was up on the LH website last month but now they are preparing for the next QT so they took it down.  I've also noticed the forum posts don't go prior to Sept of last year?? What happened to all that history?

Nonetheless, I wanted to show that I recall that Arlington rankings fell along side Plano's so that would mean FWFC would probably fall in the #2 spot.  Point being they didnt view Arlington any less than Plano.  Only one I see questionable as to placement is LP Keegan as they placed #1 in the 99 APL D2 division.

I found it!!  I want to say Flash finished 3rd or 4th? in Arlington the previous year and Genesis was around 5th or 6th in Plano so somewhat close in equivalency.

Last year's Arlington champ did not try for LH

Not sure if this matters, but FWFC topped WF Express 1-0 in Cowtown champ game.  Not saying FWFC is better at all, very close teams.  FWFC just happened to win that tough battle.  But, it is a recent head to head matchup.  So much can change between now and QT anyway.

Rather than looking at brackets, another way to look at this and discuss is just the seeding order. Still have to make assumptions about which teams will still exist and actually enter. Plano teams are easy. Intermixing the Arlington teams is the real challenge and there will be a difference of opinion. New formed teams will be seeded last (i.e. Sporting last year). Of course, all pure speculation at this point.

Depending on how everything shakes out, I think some teams to watch are (of course)WF XPress, Fever, and Avalanche as well as Gunners, DTxn FTW, AFC Black. I am particularly waiting to see how the former Shortcakes aka Gunners do this year - only because they have progressed nicely in two years. Lightning, I am pulling for you.

It might be interesting too if any teams fall out in LH before the QTs.

IMO...I would bump FWFC up the 2nd or 3rd spot maybe Cyclones up one spot as well. 
Other factor, as mentioned previously, would be if Abilene goes out for QT. What about Arsenal, they going to try to make another run? Thought I read on here Mansfield Samba was going for run at it as well.  Any others?
