The #1 ranked team is not playing in this tournament. How can they be in bracket 3?

Lake Highlands has Elite on top after week 1 (plus we all know they are the #1 team). FBR now goes away and Lake Highlands takes over the 'rankings'. I am looking forward to the Spirit / Elite match - I see it playing out to be a 3-1 or 2 - 0 final with Elite on top.

I'm surprised there weren't more LH or out of town teams entered in the tournament. Would've been cool to get 16 teams and 4 brackets.

Come now, you can't win one game and call yourself the #1 team. If we learned anything from FBR, it is the body of work over a long period of time that makes you number 1.

Until the end of the Fall season, Sprit will be #1. Then you reshuffle...

Pretty desperate Go- saying you are #1 on gd after 1 week. You are better than that (or maybe not, I don't know you). Just wait...you will get your moment. But it isn't here just yet.

Well, if you were using the FBR standard, which everyone agrees is the gold standard, maybe they would still be #1 on Sept 6th even with a loss. It is all about the formula. In terms of league Champion, we won't know that until the end of the Spring.

Sorry don't want to hurt you guys feelings but that's how rankings work. Changes every week just like fbr did. We didn't take a snapshot of fbr until the end of the season

Right now there are 8 teams tied for first. GA followed by GF will be used to determine placings if there is a tie at the end of the season, but I agree a little early to be using them now to argue for 1st. In a couple of weeks, a couple of big names, and some not so big names that are tied for first will not get the three points needed to stay there. All this will shake out soon enough and GA and GF won't even be needed anymore.

As I stated earlier, assuming Elite wins the PLD (and I believe they will) they will be #1 for pretty much the remainder of the year on Gotsoccer, which now is all that matters. FBR stopped being relevant not long after contracts were signed. I'm actually amazed that Beat the Heat gave Spirit 5000 points but I'm sure PLD will give the winner something similar.

And after week one yes even GD matters, otherwise all the teams with 3 points would be get listed as #1, however thats not how the league works. From this point on, if you want to be #1 you need to out score and beat #1.

What the heck just happened here???? The defacto #1 for almost 2 years is in question. A lot of dog piling on Elite and bragging from the Spirit family. This is going to end one way and one way only......Elite is the best team in NTX and will show it this weekend and the rest of the year. You TX Spirit parents should not poke the bear.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only Spirit 04 parent that ever post on here. There are some spirit red parents that post but to my knowledge, and we've all been together 2+ years, I'm the only one.
