Dropping Gold down to 12 teams sure makes it a competitive pool in each of the 3 brackets. There are going to be some fun games to watch and it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Silver is going to be interesting too. I'm looking forward to see who steps up and takes it. There are several teams that have the ability to take a big step and push for the next level.

It is going to be a great weekend all around. Pray for weather like this morning.

Realistically all of the Gold teams are in the running. Solar and Texans have a slight advantage, but I don't see many games being decided by more than a goal. One lucky bounce or call could determine the entire game. Refs better be on their game this weekend as well!

I wouldn't count those 06 teams out in silver. Or the OK team.

No, Pulpy moved over to Solar from LP and by all accounts looked good in CFBAL last weekend. Aztec's are playing with the 04's (11x11) in CFBAL. Not sure why they aren't in this tourney. Diaz is missing as well.

Does anyone know if the Oklahoma teams are any good? I saw on another thread they may be the 2 best teams in the state with the edge going to OKC??? Really?, I am thinking the DTS/Pulpy/NOKC bracket may be stacked slightly heavier than the others.

I have not seen the Nokc team but my daughter played the TSC team in April and they are a very strong team.

I heard the NOKC team has some big physical players. Tulsa05 you got any more info on them?

But does OKC have speed? We all have big and physical. Some also have the ability to put a ball through and out run people.

I bet they get introduced to speed this weekend, seriously though I do like to watch physical girls teams. I think i get your take that they are slow. I may have to watch the OKC/DTS game.

I have seen NOKC several times. They are good team and should compare to top 10 teams in NTX from what limited NTX I have experienced. They play good defense and play physical. don't remember any outstanding speed but cant say they are slow. The had 2-2 tie vs Sting Scarfone and lost to Lady Aztecs 3-1 here in Tulsa tournament last spring. Every time they have played a TSC has been against TSC Red or White teams. TSC gold has not played them. Would be fun game. I expect both OK teams to do well this weekend. We looking forward to the trip to NTX.

We have not played any other 05 teams in the area that would compete with the top 10 teams in NTX. 05 soccer in Tulsa is lacking competition. Seems a little slower to develop up here. I do believe there may be another team in Edmond area that is decent but haven't seen them. I would assume the Blitz club in Tulsa will have a decent 05 team emerge as well soon.

I believe OFC is the competitive club in NOKC and Edmond area that doesn't start until U11. But not real familiar with them.

Oklahoma teams usually don't fair well at young ages against north Texas teams. I don't know if its size of city or lack of competition in okla. Good luck though- im sure you will find the competition Stronger than you have faced. Especially Nokc they play two of the best right off in pool play.

I agree, tough start for them, run into a buzzsaw then thrown to the wolves! Need to be very very good to survive the 2 they face.

Who is OFC? New to Region III soccer I see. I don't know anything about this NOKC team but from what I know of boys and girls soccer at this age in NTX, they love to play smash and grab. That works if what you are trying to smash doesn't have a beautiful first touch and you fall on your face in the effort.

Physical play is part of soccer but when it becomes a team's identity at this age, then I am not a fan of it. It can be coached but it should not be emphasized at this level, in my humblest of opinions.

I am really looking forward to seeing these OK teams and seeing how they match up with NTX. I can't wait to be out in the 104 degree heat all day.

I think I agree, but not scared to use your body for position is what I like, no different than higher level soccer! I don't think anyone likes to see someone haul off and flatten a player. I do hate to see parents (mostly) yell that they are "pushing" when they are actually playing the ball correctly.
