05 Labor Day Tournament Accepted Teams, Flights & Schedule

I think I agree, but not scared to use your body for position is what I like, no different than higher level soccer! I don't think anyone likes to see someone haul off and flatten a player. I do hate to see parents (mostly) yell that they are "pushing" when they are actually playing the ball correctly.

What about bracket 3? Can Solar pull it out?

Every time I make a case for ranking the brackets, I look at the others and change my mind. By far the group to watch if you're looking for a great soccer game every time out.

Ill take solar in bracket 3, if they have the really good forward. Does anybody know which team royal/white she's on? She's tough to defend.

It will be interesting to see how they split the rosters up for each of the Solar Pulpy teams.  Last week they had 2 ties (against Sting Central Diaz 0-0 and DT Moreno 1-1) and a win against Sting North Garrett 4-2.  Do the rosters have to be set and different or can the teams share players this weekend?  Just curious.

I think the winner will come from bracket 2

a/c and big screen at hotel sounds better than 105 and sun beating down on me, but I'll be at soccer fields.

Just need to see if I can get my fellow 04 Poke fan to come cheer on the 05's instead of watching the Pokes.

Now that there appears to be zero chance they are going to fix any schedule conflicts, I just wondered what others thought of the job done by the scheduler for the academy groups.

My opinion only but it smells of someone hitting the auto schedule button in gotsoccer and walking away...

I only looked at a couple teams schedules but noticed several coaches with 2 teams that had games at the exact same time. That seems like one of the 1st things you would fix in the scheduling process.  

Anyway, good luck to all teams this weekend, should be a fun and competitive tournament for all teams.

I am with you on schedules.  But with the size of the tournament I wont be too harsh.  When a coach only has two teams they should be able to accommodate.  Ours has back to back games at 2 different complexes and no willingness from scheduler to switch two games to get them at same complex.

And I'll take the Pokes and you can meet me at the Renaissance to pay up!

Seriously?? Wow. I can see the occasional conflict for multiple teams, but a back to back at different complexes? That's someone throwing up the hook em sign on you.

Ah yes, the perils of having 2 teams at the same competitive level.  Just kidding.  That's pretty bad.  It is a huge tournament but a coach's schedule should be the first thing looked at.

Yeah i was just looking and they double booked Melissa garret too and lee's LP teams as well, so they didn't target any one team or club. but agree with Tulsa, with the size of the tourney i get it a little bit, but this just shows the academy side was an after thought, next year my recommendation is let Nicole James schedule the academy and someone else schedule the select groups...

On the pay up, that's a Deal and I promise I won't set the fire alarm off on my way out!

No its still an OK v TX thing. Our 03 team gets a 7:30 am & 7:30 pm on Sat and then back 7:30 am on Sunday. But at least they don't have to play in the 103 temps, so maybe a good thing.

Thanks to the Plano Convention and Visitors Bureau, we can watch both. They are offering free wifi so ipad+slingbox = the best of both worlds! We have a (1) OSU fan so we will be nice and share that game with him. More importantly we will also have the OU game for those who like to watch real football. Seriously though, we will be out there at the same time so look us up to watch some of the OSU game.

What field will the OU watch party be at?

We will be at dinner for the start of the game, then back to the hotel around 7:30 unless we can find a bar that will rent it, that would beat an ipad screen!
