Great point. I agree with you. Unfortunately, sports (including golf) are about leverage and speed. Athletes are getting larger and quicker.Gunner9 wrote:Soccer IQ encompasses a lot of things, so some of it can certainly be impacted by good training. But I don't think you can really teach vision in soccer or any other sport. Some special players have the ability to slow the game down and see it a few moves ahead. I think that is a gift.4-3-3 wrote:Agree with this 100%. Is Soccer IQ mostly genetic? Or is it something heavily influenced by coaching and playing environment?Lefty wrote:
Speed of foot is something a player may have and is a great attribute, but the real question is do they have the soccer IQ, speed of thought and skill to effectively apply the foot speed in a game. If they do they can be special players, but seen many speedsters absolutely lost on a soccer field.

Agree that I don't really think you can teach or improve vision or speed of thought. What good training can improve is what to look for and what to do if you see things.Gunner9 wrote:Soccer IQ encompasses a lot of things, so some of it can certainly be impacted by good training. Kind of like speed of foot, you can marginally improve it but basically you got what you got.
