06 FBR Top 10 Teaser

Re: 06 FBR Top 10 Teaser
Until the year before select I would rank teams/coaches on who is developing the girls the best for the future (not score W/L), which would mean watching games all over the place and getting a bunch of feedback- thus the divorce.
So I think I would just prefer to comment on the FBR and be able to stay on my development soap box.
That said Joe I know you are also good with numbers and far more interested in FBR. So you can pick it up- but I warn you now if LP falls from the top 07 spots there will be hell to pay.

Aren't Kicks 09 playing on the Kicks '10 team somewhere listed as a 2010 team...playing up in '09 division?Borussia wrote:I dont believe there is a kicks 09 girls squad. Now the boys on the other hand... watch out... we have one that can train with 05s! His big sis with the 01s should be proud.
This 09 boy phenom..Borussia Jr?
Tex: Not sure it would go over well having an LP parent publish the rankings. Quite a few Lp haters out there. Having Owen ranked #1 and Gerrard #2 would invite the questioning of the formula...(though, I could always use BW excuse of: the numbers are the numbers)

Re: 06 FBR Top 10 Teaser
I understand the premise of the teaser as it is very early and the model does not have a lot historical data, which is fine given this is a marathon not a sprint. I do recommend that the top 10 and others align on which tourney to play in November to sort out a lot of the SOS variable.Borussia wrote:FBR Teaser
- Teaser Top 10 based on recent data
- Official Full '06 FBR will be released Wednesday Oct. 2nd.
- If your favorite team is not listed in the full FBR please see the next two items listed...
- They have no game data vs. '06s reported
- They do not have more than 3 games vs. 06s reported
There will be significant movement up and down the ranks as more game data is gathered and teams move up or down the tiers.
This is all for fun. There will be debate, disagreement, and probably some adult humor. Please keep that in mind and lets have some fun with it.
There are a ton of 06 squads out there now and a good number that are just out side the Top 10 because of lack of more game data, but reports of some good play on the field is starting to make this age group a bit deeper than it had been looking... fun times ahead.

1 Dallas Kicks Academy '06 Martinez
2 FC Dallas '06 Roach
3 Solar Chelsea '06 McDaniel
4 Sting East '06 Chacon
5 Liverpool '06 Dalglish
6 TX Spirit '06 Weir
7 SRSA '06 Missimo
8 Sting West '06 Davis
9 Liverpool '06 Barnes
10 Dallas Rush '06 Mays

Re: 06 FBR Top 10 Teaser
I think it is way too early venture SRSA and Barnes will drop based on SOS as SRSA and Barnes play again in October and both will play Sting West Davis I believe twice. In addition, SRSA will play in the 06 age group during the NOV tourneys.Borussia wrote:1. I would need to play with hypotheticals in the FBR, but I would venture to say that SRSA and barnes will continue to take a hit on SOS as the season goes on. SRSA is riding on a loss to Barnes who is assigned to Tier 1 based on known historical data.futbollove wrote:Now back to the FBR,
1. Speaking of the Barnes beatdown, how does SRSA stay top ten with that loss?
2. How do the various leagues factor into SOS? With everyone playing all over the place, I would imagine it's difficult to consider one league "tougher" than the other(s), thus complicating assigning teams as tier 1, tier 2, etc.
2. At this point the various leagues do not factor. I grouped Tier 1 on the known and really not much argued top 5. Tier 2 is based on teams that showed in recent tournament play a seperation from Tier 2 and a win versus a tier 1. Tier 3 is now any squad that has a win in the book. tier 4 is teams with zero wins. As tier 3 teams continue to win they will be bumped up and assigned based tier and cross tier play. somewhat of a crap shoot right now with the unknown squads. Most any team that has been in existence prior to the end of spring I have seen play or know of, so it helped, and i did take a look at past league and tournament play.
more data makes this easier to sort out.

Re: 06 FBR Top 10 Teaser
aside from a numbers stand point wouldnt the team be better served playing competition of equal caliber, no offense to anyone intended. It is debatable what is gained from 7-1 trouncings as opposed to 2-1 matches.

Re: 06 FBR Top 10 Teaser
Wow already starting a little 07 ranking controversy are we Joe. Owen #1 and Gerrard #2, not vice versa? And no Kicks in either spot. Good thing this is being published in the 06 forum- that said I will stop hijacking the 06 postBorussia wrote:Tex: Not sure it would go over well having an LP parent publish the rankings. I agree, which is why I am asking now what tournaments are the Top teams playing. It's a little early to talk leagues for the spring but tourneys make sense. BTW, the system updated and the game score was not 7-1.Borussia wrote:Lets just say I have all game schedules loaded and have looked at hypotheticals. November tournament play against equal competition will go along way in "helping" teams with the numbers in the database.. strictly speaking from an FBR standpoint.

I dont think its ever to early to talk leagues... CFBAL finally got their 06 up and running. Great fields, 10 game schedule, centrally located.. and hell THEY HAVE HAD THEIR FULL SCHEDULE SINCE AUG. 18... WHATS UP WITH THAT SDL???skeets00g wrote:I agree, which is why I am asking now what tournaments are the Top teams playing. It's a little early to talk leagues for the spring but tourneys make sense. As it stands most of the upper echelon teams are playing either up in 05 (Kicks and McDaniel) and 9v9 in SDL. lets get them all central. I would take Cox field any day over Blue Sky The Colony... sorry blue sky

1. Purple Sky Ponies
2. Dandelions
3. Butterfly kisses
4. Unicorn princess's
5. Smurfette's
6. Believix Girls
7. Magenta Mermaids
8. Light Bright Crew.
The ranking is based only on games played and leaves out the Pixie Dust Queens, because although they are the undisputed #1 team of the 2011's they only play up against 2010 boys so not enough to go on.
This forum is great......

Its all good, just poking a little fun at the overzealous parents. And personally, I think it is a little silly to rank any girls under the age of 15.
I think you are being naïve if you don't think there are some parents that are very serious about the ranking of the 06s or 07s. I predict a full fledged, bona fide, certified, and verified FBR for the 06s after this fall.
Rank away......

Fine. Just trying to firm up tournaments as they will happen soon and the outcomes could impact the leagues for the spring.Borussia wrote:I dont think its ever to early to talk leagues... Re: 06 FBR Top 10 Teaser
Ease up on Kicks. True they have only played one 06 team recently. The only other games scheduled against an 06 team is with Texans Moreno. So this will probably be the last time that you see them listed for a while.futbollove wrote:
1. How does Kicks make the FBR? Other than a beatdown of Roach( who is wayyy too high imo), I haven't seen any scores for them against any other 06 teams.
But if you truly are interested, and want to see them up close, I suggest you contact JM and come on out to a practice. Kicks is still looking for players. Shameless plug.

I think you, Borussia, wolf, Miley Cyrus, rockwall and skeets should work on putting this together.
