If I did that it would lead to two things- a change from FBR (until the year before select) and a divorce.

Until the year before select I would rank teams/coaches on who is developing the girls the best for the future (not score W/L), which would mean watching games all over the place and getting a bunch of feedback- thus the divorce.

So I think I would just prefer to comment on the FBR and be able to stay on my development soap box.

That said Joe I know you are also good with numbers and far more interested in FBR. So you can pick it up- but I warn you now if LP falls from the top 07 spots there will be hell to pay. affraid

Funny stuff, but the '07s are already being tracked and ranked. Definitely NOT using FBR. The system we are using is called ISTAND. And we will always be sure to keep the Kicks 07/08/09 and LP Keegan near the top.

I dont believe there is a kicks 09 girls squad. Now the boys on the other hand... watch out... we have one that can train with 05s! Wink

Aren't Kicks 09 playing on the Kicks '10 team somewhere listed as a 2010 team...playing up in '09 division? affraid

Tex: Not sure it would go over well having an LP parent publish the rankings. Quite a few Lp haters out there. Having Owen ranked #1 and Gerrard #2 would invite the questioning of the formula...(though, I could always use BW excuse of: the numbers are the numbers)

Not Borussia Jr, but my boy isnt far behind. The city futsal boys worked with mine this summer and man the ball control he is showing is just fun to see.

I understand the premise of the teaser as it is very early and the model does not have a lot historical data, which is fine given this is a marathon not a sprint. I do recommend that the top 10 and others align on which tourney to play in November to sort out a lot of the SOS variable.

Lets just say I have all game schedules loaded and have looked at hypotheticals. Its rather straight forward from a numbers standpoint. November tournament play against equal competition will go along way in "helping" teams with the numbers in the database.. strictly speaking from an FBR standpoint.

aside from a numbers stand point wouldnt the team be better served playing competition of equal caliber, no offense to anyone intended. It is debatable what is gained from 7-1 trouncings as opposed to 2-1 matches.

I dont think its ever to early to talk leagues... CFBAL finally got their 06 up and running. Great fields, 10 game schedule, centrally located.. and hell THEY HAVE HAD THEIR FULL SCHEDULE SINCE AUG. 18... WHATS UP WITH THAT SDL???

As it stands most of the upper echelon teams are playing either up in 05 (Kicks and McDaniel) and 9v9 in SDL. lets get them all central. I would take Cox field any day over Blue Sky The Colony... sorry blue sky

I think we should figure out who is going to do the FBR for the 2011s. I think the current rankings are:

1. Purple Sky Ponies
2. Dandelions
3. Butterfly kisses
4. Unicorn princess's
5. Smurfette's
6. Believix Girls
7. Magenta Mermaids
8. Light Bright Crew.

The ranking is based only on games played and leaves out the Pixie Dust Queens, because although they are the undisputed #1 team of the 2011's they only play up against 2010 boys so not enough to go on.

Its all good, just poking a little fun at the overzealous parents. And personally, I think it is a little silly to rank any girls under the age of 15.

I think you are being naïve if you don't think there are some parents that are very serious about the ranking of the 06s or 07s. I predict a full fledged, bona fide, certified, and verified FBR for the 06s after this fall.

Fine. Just trying to firm up tournaments as they will happen soon and the outcomes could impact the leagues for the spring.

It is week 2-3 for most teams. Upcoming DATA will facilitate accurate rankings. Look at the BCS for USC was ranked number one last year and then went 7 and 6 and didn't even finish top 25.

I am sure we all can agree on a top ten with no sequential order. THEN we have a friendly tourney. THE FORUM TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS.

I pulled off an 8 team round robin two springs back for the 05s. Was a good day. Each team got 3 full games, coaches reffed the games. Families picknicked, etc.. And everyone got to see all 8 teams play on two fields side by side. He'll I had a waiting list of teams that wanted in.
