06 FBR Top 10 Teaser

I pulled off an 8 team round robin two springs back for the 05s. Was a good day. Each team got 3 full games, coaches reffed the games. Families picknicked, etc.. And everyone got to see all 8 teams play on two fields side by side. He'll I had a waiting list of teams that wanted in.

SRSA is still looking to play in the official tourneys with the top teams. In addition, we would certainly consider participating in a round robin of pure 06 teams, with only caveat being format...prefer 7v7.

The mighty SRCA is in! Who else is in?

Uh, I take it this would be FBR based correct? Would be Top 8 for ease of schedule and play. So question is who is the top 8 when official FBR is published? Ouch

Let's do top 8 based off your rankings, no pressure.

Time and location need to be set as well as 7 other teams. We can do this.

All is current and accurate and plugs SRSA in at #10. That would put them two spots out of the chase.

We need a few more weeks of data before we finalize rankings in my opinion.

I agree a few more weeks is needed, but based on what i see in the database i dont see the top 10 moving much. 8-10 will be the ones shifting around i think, and possibly LP dalglish becauae of the weak SOS. They are riding on their tournament play from fall kickoff, current weak SOS in league may impact that though.

This is all numbers mind you.

Not a problem if you do not want to include SRSA. The team will play in at least two tournaments in Nov. So, we will still have our chance to play most of the 06' division. Plus, by then we will have played Barnes again and Sting West. So, we will have a clearer picture of the landscape.

Personally, I am just relieved to see the 06 division start to take some shape...for the longest I was concerned that the division may be the weakest in many years as measured by # of teams.

I really want SRSA for they can straight up ball! Excellent players and coaches. They do things the right way. Come on Borussia! This is arguably the top team in 06!

I personally dont see it happening. Coaches with agendas have way more to loose than gain from doing it.

Someone has to set up the format (saying it actually happened)

1. Bunch of teams just say hey, yeah we want to play each other...
2. Somebody comes up with their own Top 8 (we could argue allllllll daayyy long over that)
3. We use a source that randomly ranks the squads based on statistical data... what could that be... FBR maybe

If you use FBR how do you say to any squds that may be in the top 8 and want to participate that sorry, but we feel Ponie princesses at #14 are REALLY a top team and they will be playing instead.....

When I set up the one a couple years back I took it as first come first served... There were some top squads in the 05s at the time that wanted in and were wait listed. Set the rules and if they want to they will call.

Like I said, I think agendas get in the way. For those of you that know me, if teams want to do it I am game for setting it up and ramroding the bad boy.

So Borussia,

Since Kicks are playing in the 05 league, will they have played enough games against the 06 teams to qualify for the FBR standings?? I think the tourny would be a great idea for the teams. Then it would give less reason to be on the site and argue on who is number 1.

Time is the best to determine who is on top.

No kicks would not be in the official FBR. Simple, that's not even debatable. McDaniel will remain because of their tournament play in august.

I know for a fact JM could care less.

Exactly. Never cared less about rankings as no one knows who will be around by U11. Crazy if parents only go by rankings to get their daughter on a team by that way!
We have been around longer than most and someone ranked us 4th last year at U7! Let the girls develop

And that is based on ... what exactly? Don't get me wrong, this team is good, but there is absolutely nothing concrete to support this statement.

This SRSA team is comprised of the brass of Texans Torres now Texans Moreno. When they were Texans Torres i dont know of anyone that would dispute that they were not 1-2 or atleast top 5.

Panties?  I am boxer guy...okay TMI.  LOL

I am not upset.  I meant what I said it is not problem.  I am not on the forum to make claims about SRSA being #1.  I have been through the journey and I have learned this is a small community.  Net, it is not worth debating who's #1 as we will not remember in 2 years and it won't matter who is #1 at age 7.  I am simply as I have stated trying to find out where the top teams are playing in Nov tourneys so we can learn how the team is developing versus the peer group...but no one is talking.  The rankings mean nothing to Coach Derek.  His track record speaks for itself.

Agree Skeets. It does seem like the Top 06 teams do not play one another often enough or not at all. This is ALL for development. Let's put together a round robin and develop these young ladies. It is NE TEXAS vs the world.

I'm sure it means nothing to DM. I agree it shouldn't. No one is talking because like I said most the coaches either have an agenda or just don't care to share. I hope its the later, but we all know how the game is played... Well most of us do.

Personally, I prefer to just play in the Nov tournaments as our girl's schedules are fairly firm until Nov tourney.

Ok I'll give you top 5. But top spot as you previously claimed is a bit much.
I too would like to see the top teams together in one league, but if not, at least in a few tourneys together.
