'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 9-19-13 Empty '04 Girls FBR Rankings - 9-19-13

Post by Guest 19/09/13, 02:35 pm

Current Rankings include game results from 5/17/13 through Present Date

A few notes:

1)  Liverpool '04 RASE is the de-facto #1 '04 girls team in NTX (unbeaten against any '04 NTX girls team for >1 year).  They are not included in the FBR at this time due to a lack of games played against '04 girls opponents in the past 16 weeks

2) The teams currently listed in the FBR rankings have been confirmed as registered to play in an '04 division of a girls NTX academy league for Fall 2013, AND, have a minimum of 3 games played against other '04 opponents in the past 16 weeks.

3)  The '04 FBR is still a bit "noisy" due to tournament data from May being deleted from the history on a weekly basis, along with new fall league results being added.  I would expect the rankings to stabilize as we get into the month of October

Lots of movement. Be interesting to see where these teams settle. Probably won't know for sure until some Thanksgiving/winter break tournaments as there is not a lot of cross play between the primetime/sdl leagues.

Lots of weight given to the SDL side. Need DTS to do well in SDL1 and a couple of teams to do well against DTS in PTCL to drag some of these primetime teams into the upper echelon.

Actually, not so much movement. No teams dropped out of the top 10, only 1 team dropped out of the top 20, and only 2 teams dropped out of the top 25. Some shuffling of spots, but no real Earth shattering moves up or down in the top 25.

A little more movement farther down the rankings, but not as surprising to see that happen down in that part of the rankings, especially this early in a new league season.

You're right. Guess I was focused a little too much on FCD Predators drop given their SOS and GSSC drop with their only loss against a very good and maybe a little underrated FCD Premier team.

Interesting. What games I've seen over the last few weeks I have to say that the top 20 04 teams are way weaker than where the top 20 03 teams were this time last year. Anyone disagree?

That's just begging for a fight. How many 04 teams played up (against 03), last year and the 04's destroyed them. This year, as with every year there has been a lot of player movement as teams get ready for select. In a few months as things settle, you will see better play

Ok, top 10? Take SRSA and RASE outta the equation as they're freaks! Would LFS beat DTS 03? No way. DT Scott beat RASE 03? Nope. Etc

It's interesting to note that out of 18 04' teams playing in TGPL and/or PTCL (Silver), 12 of the teams moved down or stayed in the same spot based on a week to week comparison. 6 of the teams moved up. It was a net loss of 20 places in the rankings for all of the teams combined.

If you believe what you say, why are you excluding RASE and SRSA? Oh wait, maybe it's because you have ties to RASE. Would RASE beat SRSA? Don't bet on it.

I take out RASE because they beat a lot of the top ten 03 teams. If you mean Liverpool as my ties to RASE then fair enough.

The top team in any age group cannot beat the top 1-3 in the older age group.

Even the mighty SRSA 03s would not be able to beat top 3 02 teams.

So I guess you include LP Dalglish and LP Barnes as not being as good?

Post by SD69 19/09/13, 05:04 pm

Lets see. Went back and got an FBR fro about a year ago for '03s. Including RASE/SRSA (I added in RASE as #1 for the 04's):
SRSA03 > RASE04
Beiber Beiber Fever < LFS04
DTS03 < DT Scott 04
Sting03 < DTS 04
FCD Premier 03 > TX Spirit 04
FCD Predator 03 < TX Spirit North 04
LP Dalglish 03 > Lady Aztecs 04
LP Hilliard 03 < Sting Scarfone 04
Sting Mendoza 03 < LP Barnes 04
LP Rush 03 > Sting East 04

These are very subjective, but my list has 04's with a lead of 6-4. This doesn't even include LP Dalglish as they are current way underrated at 10. There might be a few that can be switched, but to call the '04s 'way weaker' is erroneous, IMO of course.

I think the level of play has dropped. Is it down to coaching or talent?
Don't get me wrong there's a lot of kickball in the 03 age group but I feel that they are just stronger (just IMO).

There are several more teams in the 04 group as opposed to the 03's as well. Maybe some of the teams are diluted due to more options available

At a glance, what is happening over there with FCD Predator? WOW, #43.. That's a major plummet since last fall. Any insights?

I wouldnt say never! FCD Premier 02 beat DT 01 in a tourny ,a couple of months after DT 01 had just won State Cup. The 01 top 6 teams are all pretty competetive, but most would put the DT 01 team in the top 3 at that time.

Not true. Before turning select the top 03Gs were considered SRSA, LP Elite, and FCD Gold.
RASE 04 beat two of these three in their final year of academy

I don't know about those games but the last game I saw of Rase 04 was against DTS 03 and I think DTS keeper touched the ball maybe 3-4 times. Score was 3-0... could just as easily been 6-0.

Don't get me wrong... that is a good result against DTS, but I hate to break it to you that Rase 04 is in fact mortal.

You may want to disclose the rest of it.... They also lost to several teams ranked below #5 and low as #37 in the 03 group. But, good attempt.
