Sources on the condition of anonymity have confirmed that the Texans and Moreno have lost the team. The girls are now Dallas Rush.

Yeah, I hear that the kids arent safe at Street Soccer anymore... non club affiliated my burro... recruited away by a Street Soccer trainer.

Can anyone confirm that???

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that there are 2 sides to this story.  Just speculating.  You don't typically see a team get recruited away from a coach, with whom they have had a great amount of success and are sitting very close to the top of the rankings, without something else going on.  But maybe a Street Soccer influence will translate to wins on the big, grassy fields instead of draws.

If you know the group, then you should know that most of those girls all do Street Soccer weekly with Gerrard, and have been for a LONG time...  so i guess it wasnt really helping with the W column, but maybe being there full time now will work out for them better.

Last my kid was there one of the sales pitches was they had no club affiliation so they would not be recruiting your kid away.  So now one of theirs is on staff with Rush... and just "stole" an entire squad.. kind of sends a message in my book.

I know a few in the group and will hold off judgment until I hear from one of them.  But that is all interesting news and does say a lot about "non-affiliated" Street Soccer if that's how it all went down.  

I also know how this youth soccer thing works and how dissension can grow when parents believe their daughters should be playing better as a team and/or developing more individually, or if they decide after time that they don't like how a coach operates.  There is no way that this was a quick snap decision and probably not based SOLELY on Gerrard trying to pull them over to a new club that had no 05 team until now.

More power to the parents for doing what they feel is best for their Kid.  Cant fault anyone for that, in no way shape or form.  I have done the same for my kid.  

Now, still no way of getting around the Street Soccer image being tarnished.  The website use to even read that the coaches were not permitted to do training outside of Street Soccer.  Parents were not even suppose to ask.  Guess that has changed...

Did 100% of the DDs go to Rush, or will we see a few pop up on other top 10 teams?

I'm really sorry to hear this. Coach Moreno is a great coach who deserves better.

Stop. Did you really have to stoop to ethnic slurs? Becca Moreno is an extremely dedicated coach and a good hearted individual.  She probably isn't too excited to see her friend being slammed by you. Street Soccer is all about individual player development and doesn't give a flip about which team your kid is on.  Obviously you have a personal issue with SSA.  It's all about the Ws, right? You are talking about an 05 team right?  Perfect example of what's wrong with NTX soccer...

There was a thread on here not too long ago all about SSA.  Dig that up and read how many people believe SSA is responsible for helping their DDs improve. My DD was one.

Ethnic slurs... I made a joke, a wise crack.. maybe not funny to you, but to me it is.. "You cant trust the french".. oh and I call fries Freedom Fries in my house.. have for a looongg time now. haha

I have zero axe to gring, the thread you speak of i believe was actually started by me a while back, and there have been several since then.  My dd attended and would have been attending if they had not jacked their rates up because of non-paying customers... sorry, but it got too expensive for me.  Gerrard was good with my DD.

If he is a friend of Beccas, why was there no phone call to her giving her a heads up by said friend.  

I know how she feels, and I feel for her.  That coach put a lot of time, effort, and caring into that group.  To be blindsided is not fun.  Especially by someone you say is her friend and parents she probably trusted.

They did what was best for their kids in their minds.. cant fault em for that.  but sorry, this one time SSA supporter will call em for what I see it as now..  will shannon be keeping gerrard on staff now.  broke the rules as they had been stated on posted to families looking to join SSA.  How many coaches can say.. sure, go to SSA for extras now... I wont worry about you being recruited away.

Whatever happened, that's a shame. Becca is a good coach and connects well with girls.

Obviously you are, so give us some details.  Set Maggie and Coach straight.

The coaching void within the Texans Academy system is the problem.  Becca might be a nice person and an ok coach but she is an unproven commodity and parents know it. Without the likes of a David May type figure to help organize the top Texans academy teams, I would expect these types of things to continue.

Furthermore, the fact that Hassan is willing to allow this team to leave (if not outright force it to move and btw this is the real story here) proves that the club isn't all that interested in a quality academy team...just quantity.

Well, I'm just glad to know that comments on these forums about the French are completely off-limits.

I have no dog in this fight. I don't know about the situation at all. I was just commenting on my dealings with Becca as she relates to coaching as well as interpersonal skills when it came to me and my daughter.

As a coach, I can tell you that I think her practices are pretty good from what I see almost daily from being at Ross.

As a person, she has been more patient with people than a LOT of coaches around. Whenever I have spoken to her about her 05s/06s, she has always beamed with pride about them and mentioned how happy she was at their improvement.

Like I said, I don't know anything about the situation, but can only talk about my experiences with her as it relates to me, my daughter and what I have wittnessed each time I see her with those other teams.
