should be a fun game to watch. US should win. Brazil is in disarray at the moment on the womens side. Should have a few spectacular players though

Their shot is about as good as the US men's team.

women's champions league is going on right now. No way her team was going to release her. Highlights the problem with Brazils womans team. Completely dependent on individual talent. Not very organized. don't train or play much together. The time for them to essentially send a pick up squad and compete is over

Around the 70 min mark, the announcer said that US Soccer has confirmed that USWNT will open up 2014 with a match against Canada in Frisco in late Jan.    

Can't find anything on USWNT site or FC Dallas site yet.

That is great news….my dd still not happy about not making the San Antonio trip last month…I see Christmas stocking gift written all over this one.  

Once again the US women show their dominance in World Soccer by putting a whipping on the Brazilian women. Just as you would expect from the #1 Ranked Women's team in the World.

Not sure why some were some concerned about the U17s. These are the players that matter and the depth is incredible.


The dominance will continue for years to come.

Was very cool to see all the "newbies" on the field for this match. Sermanni certainly seems to be expanding the roster.. Brazil really didn't have much of an answer for US in the game.. easily the US could have scored 3-4 more goals. Solo certainly made some awesome saves, but Brazil didn't seem to threaten too much. If anything Brazil seemed to want to scrap more than play.... I hope Lloyd didn't break her finger whacking that girl on the chest at the end of the match ( dumb red card by the way Carli... I know they were beating on you all game, but damn girl.. keep it together for the last 30 seconds then punch her out in the tunnel).

Abby looked VERY heavy legged... I just hope she can make it to World Cup.

LeRoux continues to impress.. nice touch on the ball...

Interesting to see Cox back in the game. She didn't strike me as an overly great defender years back, but I guess he wants to see her current form.

Sermanni says he has a strong pool of 24-30 women to cull into the final roster.. gonna be tough. We seems to have a pile of strong midfielders and forwards, but really need to solidify the back line.

OK, of the new faces what do we think?

Christen Press - Really like her play.... needs to be a part of full roster.
Meghan Klingenberg - Good stuff.. want to see more of her.
Amber Brooks - first cap in this game... didn't make an impression on me either way
Crystal Dunn - I like her defensive play.. very free flowing up the sides. Still makes rookie mistakes, but think she's a keeper.
Whitney Engen - Like her on defense too... very similar to Dunn.
Kristie Mewis - I liker her play as well.
Morgan Brian - need to see more
Ashlyn Harris - it will be a while before Solo moves out of the #1 keeper slot.
Lindsey Horan - Need to see more. She only got about 15 minutes in the Algarve Cup, but more time in the Brazil match. She looked to me like she had cut weight last night, and was moving a lot better. Sermanni seems to like her, but needs to play her more.
Julie Johnston - need to see more
Leigh Ann Robinson - need to see more
Erika Tymrak - Made a positive impression very quickly last night. I liked her movement on and off the ball, made some very nice passes and goal was very nice.... she needs to make a return as well.
