Well, when stars meet teams, I say, "what stars"?
The Brazilians would have been well served to watch the NBA finals. Different sport, same result, for the same reason.

Sure makes the US effort vs Germany seem almost Herculean.

So, are you all saying Ann Coulter is right? Bunch of panty waste vodka drinking socialists here? By the way, since her first rant went viral, she wrote a follow up piece. Love the "The only risk of death in a soccer game is when some Third World peasant goes on a murderous rampage after a bad call." http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2014-07-02.html

That line was tied to my other favorite from Macca. "At least DO something! Go out there and KICK someone!"

nice of you to sign on as guest and say this. Ignorant post, and reeks of racism. I would say more just heartbreak and disappointment.Guest wrote:Wow. Let the rioting begin.

Luiz tried and couldn't even do that! In one swing missed the ball (which he was trying to hit Mueller with) and barely missed Mueller's knee in his frustrated and pathetic show of leadership.

Well, Brazil lost, but the "beautiful game" was being played on the other side of the ball.......................not the Brazilian side.

Wattacking brazil lost, but the "beautiful game" was being played on the other side of the ball.......................not the Brazil side.
Can't argue with that. Brazil made them look much better than they are, but no doubt germany put on a clinic. Awesome counters, combining through the middle, super smart choices in the attacking third, incredible movement off the ball, all while being organized defensively with a true keeper / sweeper.
Hats off to them. The way Germany played is good for the game, and I'd rather see that than tiki taka any day.
I still think coaching was huge... Brazil coach should've known he didn't have the players to play an open game with Germany.

Re: Germany Brazil Game Today?
In England, they try and coach the flare out of players which is why promising young players at 17-21 become routine, dull and ineffective by 25. Also in England, they ignore the key development years (7-11) that we are lucky in NTX now to have so many quality options with, in favor of constant scrimmaging and drills (even at the academies of some big clubs) which resemble rec practices.
There needs to be a balance as in every area of life between work (technical repetition until consistency, tactical learning until understanding) and play (3v3s, indoor, etc.). If you think just scrimmaging and playing pick-up games will educate or develop consistency as opposed to cement bad habits and teach individualism, then you witnessed yesterday in full effect what that emphasis on 'make a star' mentality results in.
Ronaldo couldn't carry Portugal, Messi has dragged Argentina to where they are almost single-handedly and Neymar did the same for Brazil. Same with Suarez and Uraguay. All exciting players to watch, capable of near magic but reliance on one or two stars as opposed to the team as a whole is a disaster waiting to happen.
Most kids have heard of Ronaldo and Neymar. Before yesterday, how many had heard of Klose? This morning, how many of them will even remember his name?

Racism. I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Brazil is made up of blacks, whites and every racial combination you can think of. Stereotyping a nation's response (where riots and deaths are fairly commonplace compared to the rest of the world) is not racism. It's a response to what happens more often than not during these sort of occasions.
If he had said, "let the beer drinking commence in Germany after their victory", would that have been racist too? Or simply a stereotype that more often than not, is true?

I get you are trying to make a point but that is just not factual...on another note if a team has a coach that has no idea what he is doing and has to play without its two best players this is kinda what you end up with. ..
In the last Olympics,
USA 119
Australia 86
USA 109
Argentina 83
USA 107
Spain 100
Those are hardly all-star demolitions of three countries where most of the population would confuse a basketball with a spherically superior pumpkin!
Don't get me wrong, I'm English. We're the masters of inventing sports, exporting them and then getting owned by the countries we 'taught' them to.
