Take the time to be kind to each other

Hello dear soccer family,

What I want to tell you is not to gain sympathy but to pass on a very important message. My dear brother-in-law passed away last Friday morning of a major medical trauma. We had just celebrated his birthday along with my 91 year-old mother's last Sunday. By all accounts he and my sister had an extraordinarily good week. He and my sister cooked dinner together Thursday night and had a nice evening together. The next morning he literally dropped dead after getting up to get ready for work. He was only 57.

I tell you this because I want you to remember to tell the people who are important to you that you love them or care about them every day. I want you to let go of the small, petty things that get in the way of caring. Take each day as if it were your last and make it a good one. Don't put off anything until tomorrow. If it is important to you, do it today. Reach out to friends and family and tell them you are glad they are a part of your life. DON'T think you will have plenty of time to do things - you may not. Most of all, be happy!

My condolences to you and your family. I second this post. One of the lessons of "growing up" is just an acute understanding of our mortality and of those we love no matter how young and healthy.

Prayers with you and your family. Sorry for your loss. I completely agree, dont forget the important things in life! We all tend to get carried away somedays and forget whats really important. Hug and kiss your little soccer players and remember its just a game. Make sure they are having fun. Time passes by so fast. We are going to miss all the rides to practice and freezing mornings on the pitch and wish we had those times back.
