If someone is willing to pay me enough money, I'll go over to the SoCal forum and start up FBR there.

That will get them completely focused on winning over development, which will eliminate their advantage over NTX, and suddenly we'll have a bunch of NTX girls on the USWNT and getting schollies to Pac-12 and ACC schools!  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil

Of course... I failed to mentioned that as a result, the USWNT will fail to qualify for the 2019 & 2023 World Cups, the 2020 & 2024 Olympics, AND the next 8 NCAA champions will come from the Big Ten, SEC, or AAC...  so be careful what you ask for... affraid affraid affraid

Won't go that far, but...

...apparently a fat, middle-aged, balding, white-guy Yankee with the initials BWG, who never played soccer in his whole life, using nothing but some numbers and a laptop, in 4 short years, has somehow managed to become the single-most influential person in NTX girl's academy soccer... affraid

Or, I could be simply overstating my perceived self-importance, this is a chat-board after all...

As coach stated and it has been stated in the past.  The eyeball test is the only one you should go by, saying you actually know what you are looking at.

Good example, there an 06 coach, team is nowhere near top 30, but the man has a proven track record. Teaches the game as it should be. Is at a big club, but does it his way.  Focuses on the long term, not the immediate and preaches that from day one.  You would never know that by just looking at FBR.

FBR can Be entertaining and a tool for finding a team or coach not listed on a website somewhere.  But that's about it at this point. 2 years from now we can revisit its s BW does and then we talk it's prediction accuracy.

 cheers  cheers  cheers

The coach Borussia is referring to does a great job teaching individual skill and could care less about FBR!  The goals he sets for his teams are much longer term than most parents are willing to accept, but true soccer development is a marathon.  We've found the right coach to truly inspire our daughter.

The whole grading thing scares new players away from academy/ competitive soccer. The worst thing i see is when i receive an email from a parent saying can i try out for your team. Try outs for a team at U8 level those words should not be in the same sentence.

Post by futbollove 23/04/14, 09:56 am

Now that Lent is over, I'm back. Did I miss anything? Let's recap:

1. Kicks does not have 3 top ten 06 teams, but rather 1 team of 01's that haven't grown yet, dominating u8 soccer. (Although I could have sworn KN used to be tx.Spirit)
2. Borussia is actually "The Man". Plotting complete dominating of the 06 soccer world for quite some time now.
3. 06 FBR is no longer in existence
4. By the time select rolls around, Kicks will have all 30 of the slots in LH occupied by 1 team playing under 30 different aliases.
5. There is an FCD secret agent in the Kicks camp, or vice versa. (You never can tell with these spooks, who they're working for)
6.Liverpool jerseys are almost impossible to find
7. Jeffrey Lebowski wrote a .69 cent check to Ralph's. Those are some club fees I would gladly pay.
8. Someone handed out tainted jelly beans to all of the soccer parents.
9. TSCH wants a showdown with Tx. Although it may be a loooonnnnggg ride home lol!
10. Several parents need eye exams.
11. Therealdecoy is using an alias ( Ok, that's nothing new)
12. JM uses snacks as a recruiting tool. Brilliant move by the way!! Hasan is kicking himself right now (pun intended)
13.There is a coach out there that cares nothing about FBR. PARENTS...RUN!!!
14. BWG doesn't like magenta, and has a plan to get our DD's on the USWNT. Who cares if we never win another WC or Olympic gold. BWG in 2016!!

15. Last but not least.... FBR is back!!! (So where is it?)

Post by FierceLightning 24/04/14, 02:34 pm

I thought I would add something to this thread that recently occurred. This occurred about a month ago, when I had a slightly different thought about the FBR than what I learned here. I was talking to an 06G academy coach about their team and coaching philosophy to find out if there would be a good fit between my DD development and their goals for the team and overall philosophy. As I was discussing that I want my DD to be in an environment where she can develop her skills and soccer IQ and learn how to use those skills under game conditions, etc., the coach brought up that they had got a new team of girls that were basically cast offs from other coaches back in the fall and that the coach had begun working with them and that by the spring, that team was ranked in the FBR between 8th and 18th place out of the 60 or so.( They have dropped some by then, but still in respectable place) This is when I first got wind of the FBR. This coach was using FBR to let me know that their development with the girls that other coaches didn't have spots for, was reaping rewards in game play. So in this case, this coach was using the ranking system of FBR to "sell" their ability to develop girls soccer skills. I felt it to be reasonable as one factor to at least say that they can perform as a team.
