Let's just say that the goals of each team were slightly different. One team was obviously told to hold possession and practice ball movement and specific drills. A number of open shots were avoided and passed back to the back line to switch the field. There's more but I'll leave it at that to avoid any negativity.

So for the sake of development, will LFS try to do this against a better say, "RANKED" team? My guess, probably not..

I think if you watch you'd see they work on their development in most games.

No, it was the White team.

But FCD is ranked, #81. So was it a GREAT game to watch or not???? Was it COMPETITIVE or not???

So does this game merit LFS dropping in the rankings or FCD jumping up in the rankings?

P.S. I know, somehow this will lead to RASE.

I'll ask you, would it be better to beat a team by a wide margin and not learn anything or work on keeping the ball, linking passes, etc.?

#16 Squeezing past #81 merits a drop IMHO. I've never seen a kid not shoot for the sake of development in a 2-1 game.  3-0 or better I'd believe it. But not in a one goal game. But hey I wasn't there so I guess we have to take 10's word for it. Either way it would stand to reason that 16 should pound 81 especially IF they are playing possession soccer.

If White team is playing to develop then why use players from the Black team when you play a team ranked higher than in the 80's.

The rumors were correct...#16 lost 13 players, a coach, 2 family dogs and a turtle to Pulp. In fact there were only two girls playing on Saturday and they had cell phones asking Pulp what they should do.

Just asked for clarification of the game. I was not there. FCD's coach's comment says it was competitive. Your comment of playing "keep away" is on the opposite side of the spectrum.

we lost to LFS White 2-1 a couple of weeks ago and I though that was a competitive game.

You don't need my help for that.

People- relax.  I was at the game.  Again- what is the point in drilling a team 6-0...what do you learn.  LFS plays a posession game.  This is the white team so they are not quite as good as the black team at doing it.  Against highly ranked teams, it becomes more difficult- those teams make you pay badly for a bad first touch.  Against less skilled teams, you have a few extra seconds- which makes all the difference. So these games are great for development.

A win is a win.  This isn't college football.  The girls learn much more working on posession than they would scoring.  And yes, the girls had shots and instead dropped the ball and maintained posession.  They were instructed not to score for part of the game.  No offense to DeWitt- they are a well coached team and played well.

If you have never seen a player pass on shooting a goal I guess you have never seen a disciplined team.  Sorry to hear that purezen.  What are your DD's practices like without discipline?  This isn't rec you know.

Out of respect for their players and parents I'm not going to get into details nor make claims of what the score could of been or should have been from what I saw on the field.

I hate to point out the obvious here, but could it be that LFS grey is just a little bit better than FC Dallas Dewitt?  Why all the excuses?

I guess the question is if the players on the white team are trying to develop into better possession style players and to get better touches, then what purpose does it serve when they sit the bench to allow players from the black team to play most of the game. Because that shows that winning is more important than developing
