What's one of your favorite post "YOU" have posted. Though I have a few a wish I haven't posted.. Here is one of mines back Mar 2012. I had a good laugh at this one.

Most of us are living our dreams through our DD. It’s just the competitive nature in most of us. I may or may not be the first to admit it.


Either you're in it for:

1.) Rec - DD plays to be active and stay somewhat in shape.

2.) Competitive - Same as #1 plus her friends are on the team and they win little more game than Rec.

3.) Academy/Select - Same as #1 & #2 plus winning and losing matters and most are playing to earn scholarships.


Im sure more can be added to these three.

For those who don’t understand and for those who will never get it:

If my DD has a desire to play college soccer and to "EARN" a scholarship, I will do everything to help out with her dream. It’s not going to happen by her sitting on her asset and not being pushed. Yes, you do get a bigger trophy in a sport where name recognition is bigger than you think. Best believe college coaches know your DD names and teams at an early age - BELIEVE THIS.

In a few years when you realized why your DD was passed up on that scholarship think back on this:

4.) My DD was left her in Rec until she was 10 yrs old.

5.) My DD was the best Competitive player on her Competitive team that won more games than Rec.

6.) My DD played academy/select, I didn’t push her, and the ship has passed her by.


This was not for anyone in particular but if it bothers you, then yes, it’s for you. Keep your DD in the (4, 5, 6) category above and there will be no expectations. Don’t dislike the messenger, dislike the game. It’s a dog eat dog world in academy/select.
