That would have been the smart thing to do.
But I guess that would be asking too much from the powers that be to make a smart decision...
with all these '05 teams in primetime, glad our team elected to not play. Coaches are trying to gauge their '04 competition heading into select while trying to improve their rankings. I can see a game or 2 against an '05 team in the finals, but why not have the '05s play each other to get there? I recall last year in the few months leading up to the '03s going select, the # of '04 teams playing "up" in tournaments was minimal, with the exception of a couple top teams. what are they trying to prove? why not play with the boys if they want more competition? I'm i missing something?
ok - I'll bite
which 04 team from a lower division would be capable of winning the top 04 bracket?

Getting mad at the 05 teams is a waste of energy. A smart TD would have offered an 11v11 option for the 05 teams. They are obviously getting ready to make the transition to 11v11, if they haven't already, and now that league play is over, will use tournaments this summer to help get there. Even if it wasn't offered to begin with, a smart TD would have created one given the the number and quality of 05 teams who HAD to register in U10 in order to play 11v11.

They need to so something seeing as RASE kicked their backsides and Dalglish recently beat them well in Tulsa.Son_ofa_Pitch wrote:I wonder if this is the new TSC Kitterman 2.0 in Gold Division. Talk on OK soccer forum stating they were looking to merge TSC Winters and TSC Kitterman.

You would figure they should be trying to enter into as many tournaments as QT is right around the corner. With no history of playing other teams, this put both teams in a tight spot in making a great impression to these LH officials.

Find out where the top 04s are playing and register in the same division.$occerF@n wrote:I will chime in for myself...I want to see how the '04s are stacking up against each other...I do believe that some of the 05's are going to be great competition but I am not concerned about how they fare against 05's win or lose that is not who the 04's are going head to head with for a spot this summer...

Re: 04 PrimeTime Sports Summer Classic - Accepted Teams
Let's be real for a second here!! The three 05 teams playing Gold are top 5 teams in that age group (#1, #2, & #4). They will be way better competition for the couple of top 10 04 teams playing this tourney, than the 04 teams playing silver. I agree with Go99. Stop complaining and let them play. If the 04 teams blow them out, which I seriously doubt they will. Then maybe it was the wrong move. I doubt any of these three coaches care a whole lot about winning the Tourney. I just think they are getting ready for 11v11. By the way, I think the 05 Teams have a great chance to win this tourney.
Don't be so Scared!!!!!

Good luck with that. '04 teams don't tell where they are playing. Its like trying to find a leprechaun.

Just a matter of time before we're playing 11v11 at u7. We won't be developing players, but hey, we sure know how to win!!

PT are useless when it comes to that. They ask all the boys coaches first who invariably say no because they are scared of losing. Other tournaments will just put them in the boys division without bowing to the boys coaches.ricnbontx wrote:PT will not let the 05 Girls play in an 05 Boys division.

Sweet_feet99 wrote:I guess the next question is what tourney will most top 04 teams be playing in. I'm sure this tourney will be good for my DD's team, they need the playing time. So I guess it doesn't matter who they play as long as it's competitive.
This is the right attitude. Like several others here, I see this simply as practice for the 04's, the first of many summer warmups before it really matters, if it ever really matters.
Who you play is less important than the opportunity to develop. My DD's 05 team has played 05 Boys, 05 Girls, 06 Girls, who were very impressive, 04 Girls, and even a D1 03 Boys team this year, and I think every experience, without exception, has aided their development and understanding of the game in meaningful and somewhat unique ways. Come August, you will have plenty of looks at 04 Girls' teams at or around the level of your DD's team. You may even long for the flexibility of Academy at some point. Until then, I encourage you to embrace the diversity of experience and what it can do for you.
Remember 04's, Select is but another stage in the journey. Don't confuse the moon with the finger pointing to the moon.
