Playing Up/Select

I would like to know if any parents/coaches have made attempts to have younger players stay with them for qualifying. I know a lot of teams/players have played up because they are talented. If a player has only played up and for an extensive period of time (3 full years, 6 seasons) I feel they have earned the right to qualify with their team and not sit out a year. I would like some input and/or help if anyone has made any to attempt to reform this rule. If not, anyone know who to contact?

I'm sure a lot of players were in the same situation, but none have circumvented the NTX rule. It opens up a can of worms and a flood of academy aged kids filing to play select soccer.
How about letting her play with 05 academy boys if she is so good?

Your kid probably is good enough to play up but it won't be allowed. Give her a year with the 05s and let her enjoy it. Review in 12 months once she can play Select. There are a lot of DDs who have been in the same situation.

Is the team she is playing with a lock for D1 qualification and is she a dominant player on the team?
If so the club will probably offer you plenty of options for her to play at age and she can play up next year.
If not have her step up a level or two of competition at age.
It is not where you start, it is about the journey and prizes are given for where you finish.

I believe if she reaches the age of 10 by July 31st she can play, if not it doesn't matter. Aug 1st? Too bad. There are definitely players and even teams that could probably play up but LH's doesn't care during that first year. They will pretty much require that your team or player prove they are as good as they say they are. So unless they've seen it with their own eyes it doesn't really exist. They are the all knowing, all seeing, all everything for a few years in the NTX soccer world.

This happens every year. Parent decides to play the kid up and they run into the select roadblock. No changing the rule, good luck on trying though. Coaches kids, DOC's kids and many many others have been through it, there have been no exceptions that I am aware of. Play your age for a year, and join back the next.

How about getting all of the top 05 teams to play in one or two leagues so that the top talent can play against each other? Instead of focusing on a rule that won't be changed why don't you ask your coach to talk to other coaches about where they are playing in the Fall and make it happen. That would probably be more beneficial to your DD than worrying about how she needs to play up. There is a lot of talent in this age group. There is no harm in creating opportunities for them to play against each other on a consistent basis.

Correction...
NTSSA plays by their rules, not yours.
LH, PPL, and APL play by NTSSA's rules, so your '05 isn't going to play up with '04's in ANY of those leagues until August 2015.
