I imagine that the league/tournament organizers occasionally look at this board and have probably read the many posts/threads around this same subject. We should now consider that they have been put on notice.

You have a good imagination. League and tournament organizers don't give 2 $#!ts about what you and a bunch of other anonymouse posters say on this board. They have been put on no notice at all other than select is coming and the wins will matter.

If the ref sees it and calls a foul then it is a foul. If he deems it so then it is a yellow card. Just because it was a hard tackle or even a girl gets hurt doesn't mean it was a foul or deserving of a yellow.

so despite you guys wining and sour, bitter grapes Hyppia is in the fanals and will be in another one unless your teams can step up and beat them. The tournament organizers aren't going to do it for you

its embarrassing to admit, but this thread is giving me the itch to go watch The Karate Kid. You know, the whole good vs evil thing. I envision the Hyppia coach standing over his prized player yelling "PAIN DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS DOJO...DOES IT!!!" Love that Ralph Macchio!

You tackle quite a bit here, go.

First, if it's only said here on this narrow forum, you'd be correct.  I kinda doubt that's the case.  I do agree that most TD's or LD's won't want to touch or do much with this.

Second, while I agree with your rather obvious assessment of when a foul's a foul, I believe the posters here, while clearly piling on a bit, are merely relating experiences with the same team and, supposedly, the same player.  I have to admit, if true, that's a lot of yellows for a player in a league, and age group, where cards are rarely shown.  Refs miss, or choose not to make, calls; we all know and have experienced this.  Why they do so is another story, but if play becomes dangerous, for any reason, it's noteworthy.  Many seem to be suggesting that that is what has happened here.

Finally, as for Hyypia being a great team with excellent results, I don't see how that's necessarily relevant, and I don't think anyone here is suggesting that's not the case.  They are clearly one of the best teams, if not the best at this point, in the age group.  Congrats to the girls on another successful tournament.

But, let's not make this about what it's not about.

It's pretty clear with 5 yellow cards that it's dirty play. In the end, it's the parents responsibility to ensure good sportsmanship. Brown supporters? "it's not my kids fault"

the fact it's not the same player almost makes it worse.

Ok Suarez....didn't he play for LP too? You can deflect or try to redirect but the fact of the matter is BS is full of BS. LP plays for the cheap shot and the parents don't know how to patent.

I bet he's pretty excited about the tournament victory. And he should be. But this forum isn't just for him or other people who want to defend LP at all costs. The fact is that the cards don't lie. Rough, unnecessarily physical play is occurring. The coach should stop it and the parents should definitely stop it. But that's just my opinion.

Booked again... you obviously can't comprehend what you're reading because no one here is bashing a 10 year old. The "few" yellow cards by LP aren't proportionate to every other team so, how is this being blown out of proportion? The truth hurts.

Oh you think it's physical now, just wait! You will be amazed at the size , strength , and speed of some of these ladies as they grow.

Anyway. On to the bigger story. Congrats to Hyypia. Job well done. Took down some tough teams this weekend

Yes, congrats to both Hyypia and Texans on reaching the finals. My daughter trained in the past with TD and their is no better individual. To imply otherwise is totally misleading...

From what I saw Hyypia is very good and well coached team. They certainly bring the best of our team.

A lot has been said about penalties and such, but what was the final match like?  Were Hyppia and DTS evenly matched?  Was it good soccer or an ugly game?

I'd like to hear someone that watched the match describe what they thought about it.  That would be MUCH better than all the bickering.

The yellow card in the scarfone game was interesting, I don't see too many of those. I found it more interesting that as the girl lay on the field crying, and coach coming over to help, that the Hyppia goal keeper parent was screaming at the kid to "get up"-- and "quit time wasting" --she is 9 bro, and was just tackled from behind. --classy.
