They are also a very fun way for teams/players to spend time connecting away from their current coach, parents, etc.
Check out APSoccerCamps. We host camps at a local university with many college coaches from the area.

as APSOCCERCAMPS says, LOCAL camps can be fun and rewarding. doesn't hurt to try several out and I would suggest you do. but the 6 "SPAM" emails I get every day do nothing for my child. we will narrow down our college choices based on academics as well as soccer program and then attend those particular camps as a junior. possibly as a sophomore but stay local until then.
