Well, you at the very least confirmed that what several are going around saying is untrue... "Kicks 06 is blowing up because of the AP thing"

This soccer season feels like a lame duck session.

Im looking at it as a gimme year for the kids.  Focus on the training...  rankings, standings... have allways been meaningless.. this year.... entirely a waste of time...

06 FBR is entirely pointless this year as none of it matters.. no QT this coming summer... the squads by as soon as january, as late as april will be completely different.

3/4 of the top 10 teams currently are dominated by 75% AP 05 kids at least, in some cases its more.

Well, FCD Premier is already 70% AP 06s...

Easy ATP "06 FBR is entirely pointless this year as none of it matters..." how will all of us parents know whether we are getting our money's worth if little Susie's team isn't ranked in the top 10.

I think your all missing the point and getting exciting and panicking all at the same time. All this 05 AP and 06 AP is nonsense for many reasons. Look most top 10 06 teams are Aug-Dec 05's (our Augero squad is 9 and 4) with many good 05 birthdays on Negredo. All this we are AP means nothing as you could actually get next June an 05 Jan-July player to join you and there will be a few around probably April-July ones. The birth year 05 will be the ones in QT regardless if your are an 05 AP team in select now, you entered the QT with the group that will now be 04 birth year (currently 05's) and should you gain a bye that would now move up and be the 04 birth year. If you want to to 05 AP you will requalify with all 05AP. The new 06 birth year will now have a choice to replay their U10 academy year at 7v7 or (as the rules are about to be rewritten) play up with the 05 birth year. I started to think about this last night and I think they will change the rule which will now allow U10 to go select with their school friends so it could easily read something like this........any Jan-July U10 player has the option to play "up" at U11 thus eradicating the complaint of I want to play with my school friends. So the the 06's (which will now become 05 AP) is done and it's no big deal. With all other age groups changing as well the earned bye will go with the older age group. Let's take our 03 group. We along with other states call ours 03 and yet many states call them 02/03 which is generally what they are. So the 02 AP will move to U14 and the bye go with them as that's what they entered QT as. The now birth year 03 will have a choice of going with 02AP (which most 03 teams will become) finding an 03AP team (which most 04's will become) or reforming as 03AP but going into the QT. They will not be given a bye because they did not enter Qualifying as an 03 team but as an 02 team. There will definitely be some shuffling around but all the shock at AP is silly. With our 3 teams, 2 at 06 and 1 at 07 we can reform as 05 06 and 07 and the only difference being is the 06 will not go select until 2017 so what's the big deal as these are the younger 06's anyway

I predict that AP 06s next fall will be left playing 9v9 since they are this year, just like the 04s moving into u12 next fall will be left playing 11v11 since they are already set up for it....

Don't see it happening that way otherwise all age groups could complain. The only group different from the mandate will be 05's soon to 04 birth year

I knew it was all coming down and we already had our ducks in row.

The wishful thinking and bias is always entertaining.

The big clubs will move players to AP rosters, because that's what's best for the Club. The small clubs will try to keep strong teams intact, because that's what's best for the Club. One is not better than the other. Both groups are simply looking out for their own self-interest, as the parents should be.

You cant have Jan-July birth dates because as of right now they are classified as U11. You cant get those players to play for you (until its announced) because it will be illegal. Any Jan-July 05 player playing select cant practice with you unless they have a release so again announcing any team as AGE PURE means nothing other than you have the oldest kids

it means that any 05 under contract currently but that will be staying AP 05 next season will know that that team will be looking for Jan-July kids.....

Just like that FCD Premier is only 70% AP 06... means there will be roster spots for solid AP 06s looking to remain AP 06....

I never said this team was AP. In fact, I made it a point to say not until fall of 2016. But why can't we call them AP if that's what the coach wanted to call them?( Don't worry, he won't) No where does it prohibit that. As long as none of the players are under contract. (Jan-Jul 05)
And aren't you the one that said AP wasn't going to happen in the first place?

Yes I agree. That is the way I understood the NT letter that was posted as well.

Just curious what are the top 06 teams age mix of starters (Jan-July 06 and Aug - Dec 05)? And, will they play up or go AP 06?

Sting Black 06 has 6 of 9 starters that are Jan-July 06, but is undecided
