Birth Year Registration
We are aware that an updated and revised Age Chart for Birth Year Registration has been approved and released by the Federation. We are meeting to review these changes and a decision will be posted soon. Thank you for your patience.

Re: What is going to happen next year with the age change
The latest word that I heard, is that for LHGCL, the pendulum has swung back the other direction, and now the default will be that the byes for next year will move with the oldest players on the team (with younger players being allowed to "play up"), meaning that the league rules will not mandate that teams have to break up. I've also heard that LHGCL is considering giving teams the option to keep the bye with the youngest players on the team, if that is what the team requests. I am hearing that the final decision will likely be published sometime this month.
Haven't heard anything about what PPL or APL are planning to do.
However, regardless of what the leagues decide to do, your DD's club and/or coach could still decide to make the team calendar year "pure", and if it's an LHGCL team that decides to do this and request that the bye stays with the younger players, any players that now fall into the older CY age group would have to go find a new team.

Given what I perceive the numbers to be on most teams, this route makes the most sense. But a decision some time soon would be a nice little Christmas present.
It appears that the entities are standing around looking at each other and waiting for one to make a decision so they can all make a decision. Someone just needs to go first.

That may be the hard thing to find out, what coaches are going with what age group if not posted on club web sites. I know a lot of clubs hardly update their sites with information like that.

My understanding to this particular question is yes. The only exception that I have been made aware of is for 98 birth year playing 99 ECNL. The 99 and 98 birth year will be combined. Otherwise there would have been quite a few 98 birth year that lost a year of playing. I do not know if this is the case for LH, AP or PP.
