'04 End of Season Approaching
Congrats to LP on winning Classic League Grand Champion outright. They were kind of robbed of this at the end of season last year. Their old coach gave them a heck of a run though along with Scott and DTS.
State Cup should be interesting. There is a good chance that this years classic Grand Champion won't see the 2nd weekend with the team that has beat them two times in a row in their same bracket. It'll be interesting to see which team gets the wildcard, assuming they play with the upcoming weather.
Any insight on how age pure and ECNL will affect the '04s going forward. Of the D1 teams already in, which ones will have a D1 presence in classic league next year? Staying '04 or moving to '03? I guess part of that depends on what byes the '05 teams that are moving up and how many of the '03s on the '04 teams are moving up to ECNL.
Based on various ECNL/pool practices, does anyone have any predictions on who will have the strongest teams next year?
Classic league playoffs are a new wrinkle this year. Any guesses on who gets the 9th bye in D1? Can/how will CPP be used this year in the playoff?
I feel for the bottom 8 teams in D3. They qualify during summer but twice the teams get relegated than in a normal year. Will they be able to survive the uncertainty? Will all 8 have to requalify, or will some get a bye based on some higher ranked teams blowing up.

Next season will change everything. 03 Ecnl & 04 Pre-Ecnl will take precedent among the Ecnl clubs. Lake highlands becomes a little watered down.

Glad this year is over though. What a waste of time for my daughter. Next year might be a waste too but screw it...bottoms up!!
I would like to wish all the AP 04 parents who believe playing up or ECNL is the only route for your DD because anything else is beneath them, good luck.
A lot of changes already happening following those last games.
A lot of rumors circulating.
Can we start a controversial thread for ole time sake?

Ok here goes, don't know if this is controversial or not but it looks like a top ranked D1 team just got a new coach.

Michael Jackson said it don't matter if you're black or white. Apparently it does at feet.

Crazy soccer world. That team was definitely one of the most improved. Was it the new coach that got them going?
And if they wanted to stick together couldn't they take the bye somewhere else?

Speaking directly from experience, that is not an easy thing to do, especially if the plan is not being driven by the coach (i.e. Coach is switching clubs and team wants to follow the coach).
If the coach is not driving such a switch, then you need to have a pretty tight parent group and VERY good communication. All it takes is a couple of families to break ranks, and it can easily scuttle the deal and drop you below the 75% threshold needed to take the bye to a new club.
It can be done (and has been done). Just saying that it is NOT an easy proposition.

most? Are you sure most is the correct term?SickofSilliness wrote:I would presume that since most of the Black team moved to ECNL, most of the White team would move to Black. Undefeated in the spring in D2, I would think the team would be pretty competitive with most post-ECNL D1 teams.
