NTX G04 Youth Soccer Rankings - August 22nd, 2016
These are the North Texas Girls 2004 Birth Year rankings as calculated by Excel Solver using a best fit algorithm to match up team strength ratings with actual tournament and league play results.  I have added the league and level that each team is playing in to the best of my ability.  You will see a question mark next to the teams I couldn't find in a league, either they no longer exist or moved to 03 or 05, feel free to PM me if you know for sure on a team.  As game scores continue to roll in the resulting rankings should begin to level out to something more reasonable.  Until that time I will keep plugging away as the tournaments and league games get played and post the updated rankings each week.   I left every team in the rankings for this version, in future versions I will no longer display teams not from NTX and teams that have no results.  I started collecting scores in July, so if you see something off in the number of games your team has played please PM me and I can work on correcting any mistakes.

Addendum: just to be clear this laugh was not at the rankings. It was at the prior comment from the poster that he had posted the wrong version at first and had to go back and fix it like right after he posted it!

agree. Great effort - however it turns out, whether it reflects reality or not. The effort is significant and commendable!

One question -- how are you going to get the JDL results since they will not be "keeping score"? Don't get me wrong. OBVIOUSLY, they will keep score, but they won't publish results. Every parent, player, and coach will clearly keep score and internally know who won and lost, but how will you get accurate results?

Just wondering. Again, I commend you for your effort.

Why would you even add the JDL teams to the list?

The rosters are completely open to anyone in the club, the whole idea is a non pressured environment so you can try new things without worrying of a loss knocking you out of the league. Some teams will be different week to week and a lot of times it will have players in new positions they are not as strong at.

I like what you are trying to do and hope for the best with it - but comparing the JDL teams to teams playing Competitive soccer with set rosters is apples to oranges..IMO

I don't know a whole lot about JDL, but I suspect most will have a fairly set roster based on the tryout posts and talk about tryouts I have heard and seen over the past several months.

With that said I suspect that including them in the rankings will not have a significant impact on how the coaches approach the games. As well, because all of them are also playing tourneys, they will have a material involvement in the 04 age group that wouldn't make since to exclude them. Thus they along with every other NTX 04 team will be equally represented if they are playing in a competitive league or a competitive tourney.

but this, just like in the academy days, holds only but a little significance if not less.
Its a good fire starter for debate on the forum but its not needed to even get a preview of seeding for a QT.

Correct. It definitely creates some debate on the forum which can be fun and I think we can all agree, Gotsoccer rankings are fairly worthless. These rankings like the US youth Soccer Rankings website should offer value and find their purpose in serving tournament directors for accurate seeding but be focused purely on NTX and the 04 Age group.

Let's not pretend the "no scores" is to help development. The entire point of JDL and Champions leagues is money. It's really very simple.

1) create exclusive league for big clubs only
2) get rid of scores so no one knows for sure who is top dog
3) create 10 teams per age group in your club
4) promise little Susie's parents that daughter can get on one of the top teams or be "developed" to one shortly

Look at FC Dallas 04... JDL Blue, JDL Red, Premier team, and 6 or 7 others...

Hodor is familiar with one club's JDL process.  He cannot speak about any others.  Of the one he has familiarity with there is no crossover to other rosters.  Within the club's two JDL teams there may be some roster movement but not outside that area. At least not any significant movement (maybe a player or 2 over the season).  

Regarding rankings- the JDL teams will be playing plenty of tournaments so you will see how they fare.  10 games in league play (whether they keep score or not) will not be as significant as the 15-30 tourney games.  Look at the top JDL team listed- they already have 5 games.  You will have plenty to use for rankings.

Hodor also owes 04rankings a bit of an apology. In other thread Hodor said this was pointless essentially but you have done a pretty good job. FBR light!

The point of JDL as Hodor sees it is 1) create an exclusive league to drive quality players to ECNL clubs. 2) create a league with no soft spots. It's not useful playing teams on a different level. 3) piss off all the parents who aren't in JDL.

And Hodor has agreed to post JDL Standings.

Plus, it allowed the JDL clubs to move teams to the new (read: "better" - like LHGCL Platinum League ) league, while retaining the same LHGCL byes they had.

They then gave their byes to teams who had not earned a slot (and likely could not have earned a slot) through their play, but rather, through their affiliation.

Heard there might have been a club that did not give LH byes out if they believed that the lower team would not be competitive in LH.

When my older dd played in LH, the league actually garnered some respect as a competitive environment.

My understanding is that D'Feeters only has 1 JDL team in the 04 group.

That would make 9 teams, 8 games in league play.

Hodor has heard from a raven from north of the Wall that perhaps two wildling teams (Oklahoma) may participate. Beware. Winter is Coming.

After the summer of exoduses and power moves how is a Big 5 club only able to field 1 JDL team?  And is DT Central 04 taking the other Texans JDL spot?
