DA/ECNL ridiculousness - Page 4 Empty Re: DA/ECNL ridiculousness

Post by Guest 03/05/17, 12:15 pm

I posted something similar to El-C a couple of years back. The decline starts around U15, with the big drop-off happening between U16-U17.

Most of it is just HS aged kids figuring out where they want to focus their time and energy as they get older, coupled with a lot of the lower end LH and PPL kids coming to the realization that they aren't going to be starters on their 5A/6A HS teams, let alone playing in college, so they decide the club soccer commitment isn't worth it and they'd rather focus their time and energy elsewhere.

I don't have numbers, but based on my observations (DD is U16, HS Soph), the % ECNL players that drop out of soccer completely is much smaller - 10% or less. A higher % will decide that ECNL wasn't for them and drop to a lower league/level, or even just drop to play HS, but I rarely hear of an ECNL player that completely drops out of competitive soccer before the end of HS. I would expect DA to be similar. Girls may decide DA is not for them after a year or two, and go to ECNL/LH, but they likely won't quit soccer altogether while still in HS.

Especially be on the lookout for those dual-roster boys.

Double vision look out...maybe all the dual roster players will move to the DA then we will see how it works out for the bench warmers...can't wait.

I'm not see any competitive differences based on who's out on the field here locally what are you talking about the Fall hasn't even started? All your 300 movie channel statements and trips to Chicago don't add up. When you can provide valid facts. I will play here locally. Why would anyone pay 3x for the same competition I'm still not buying your pitch.

BBB, club soccer at all levels is expensive. Fields, leagues, uniforms, anc coaching cost have risen. You nor I can change that. Parents just need to migrate not only to the right club, team, and coach but the cost they are willing to pay. Choices in life, not always equal, not always fair, but just.

Zizou you have alienated alot of good players because a majority of us don't see any value spending that money...if you can afford go for it there's plenty of good action here locally...I appreciate your very savvy talk but most people will decide on their own..my kid is very content where she is at and has a smile on her face...

If your kid is content and has a smile on her face, why do you spend so much time on here with incoherent rants?

If I can decipher, you're asking how I can trust that the best players end up on DA and ECNL teams?  If that's the question, I never said they were.

Wander over to the frontier league website and count how many out of town games any given team played. Multiply that by $500 to get a fairly accurate estimation. Then add any other significant travel expenses. If it's less than $10 grand I'd be shocked.

How can you put a price on your daughter's happiness, you selfish pig?

Give up your couple of movie channels you are paying $300 per month, or your Starbucks addiction, or all that money you are blowing at Baby Dolls, so your daughter can live out your dreams!

Doesn't take an Elite pocketbook to have an Elite kid!

Again, their is a place for all player. You feel their is plenty of good action here locally then rock on. If you kid can play, I know that the finances can be done to allow her. Both clubs and parents are willing to help. Parents are more than willing to help players travel to reduce prices. Clubs have money to scholarship those players in need.

Same number of trips that we took in ECNL.

I don't agree that you are in the majority. I know that many players that ask for assistance can get it to help reduce cost. Scholarships happen often for players.
