Hopefully you got your roster changes and CP in by yesterday coach. Who's  sitting on the bench today?

Not hating on the Indy's at all...

Hating on your ludicrous statement (or maybe it's more of a pipedream wish) that any of this is going to send people running from the Bigs to the Indies in significant numbers.

The number of families that are truly unhappy with their current situation is pretty small, and the % that are unhappy enough to do something about it is even smaller.

Not to mention that you're just as likely to end up in a crappy (or happy) situation at a small club/indy, as you are to end up in a crappy (or happy) situation at a DA/ECNL club...
It is funny how the largest % of people that are unhappy are the ones that were told exactly how things were going to be, by the coach and by others.  Yet only heard what they wanted to hear.  All these fake poster folks are just sad excuses for has been never was athletes living through their kids. smh

So - I would wonder how you know that the largest % of people that are unhappy were ones told exactly how things were going to be, but only heard what they wanted to hear?

It is a simple, straight-forward question.

Were you there?  Was someone else there that told you this?  Russian spy satellites?  NSA emails leaked?  Cell phones hacked and used as listening devices?

The funny thing is it doesn't matter if you team uses CPP or not, this game is 100% about winning. It doesn't matter if your DD plays for a big club or an independent one like mine, most of these coaches only want to win. They will play the players they think can win if the game is close. If you're lucky you play a team that isn't very good, and every kid will get time. The good news is there are a few good coaches that are truly coaching for the right reasons (development of the kids). The bad news is most of them don't coach teams that play in Lake Highlands.

It sucks to be on the teams where you got players showing up to help win games. I don't think most people like that especially if that hits into the team minutes when they play the whole game. Even more if they don't win.

That's a bummer, I wonder what they are talking about on the way home after a loss.

It makes me wonder if the coaches realize they are jeopardizing their teams in the long run. There is nothing better to see a coach make a decision solely based on winning, and then not win the game. It tells the kids on the bench that the coach doesn't think they are good enough to contribute to a win. Keep developing your players and they will be good enough. Parents and coaches alike need to understand that at 10 years old it should be all about development. We can worry about wins when they matter (high school, college, or beyond). None of these kids will remember these wins or loses next year, but they will remember being benched for what was thought to be a better option.

The development just gets worse at the older ages. I watch the older kids play and it's a lot of kick ball and not much passing. It's kinda sad. Maybe that why NTX is dwindling on the national stage and against other regions.

That message is delivered with or without a win.

You think those kids on the bench enjoy watching the guests play week after week?  Evil or Very Mad

"keep" developing your players?  It doesn't look like much development is going on when those players continue to ride the pine while a coach brings down guests.  Funny thing is, those players on the "practice squad" pay the same amount as the starters (and guests, who are likely getting playing time on multiple teams).

With the clubs changing the way they develope players through these pools. Players then should not be contracted and limited.

Remove the contracts! Make these clubs have to work to keep your business.

That's a brilliant idea. The contract is the only way the coaches can get away with what they do. Without the contract parents could do what's right by their children, and coaches would pay more attention to development.

Why not allow players to get releases not only to rec, but also to a independent club.

If you're making this generalization after watching U13 and older out at UTD, you may wanna focus your attention elsewhere ... This way you won't be so sad.  Happy Sunday BigBoy Very Happy

Good luck with that, there are discussions going on right now to possibly extend the contract down below U11.

What happens if every parent on a certain teams all agree that none of them will sign the contract? Does that team no longer exist, or does the club have to make a change in order to keep that team and players?

Payment contracts I understand, but player movement contract are wrong. You pay your fees then you should be able to control your decisions on what is right for your child. If another club wants the player then if’s contract has been paid. Then the player has control of their situation.

So that's the point of letting these select players pass, they get more touches and more development with the plan of them making up the future ECNL teams.

clubs will look to keep as many teams as they can get in the LHGCL divisions to get players parents to pay to support DA programs.
