I do like this avatar. It's very symbolic for the weekend festivities if it doesn't rain. When you step out in the ring I know your protect those family jewels.

Wouldn't be surprised if Energy advances from bracket D. They're ranked a little higher than Solar (7th in region vs 13th) and their new DA bid just might add enough pep in their step to shake the quakes.

True 918. True about Energy. I do think they are ranked higher because they don’t play the tougher comp but maybe you are right. However if you are saying they beat Solar because they are ranked 6 places higher in region, then wouldn’t that also ring true in Quakes game. They are 31 places higher in the Nation.

Their goalie she's a giant amongst boys. Good luck trying to squeeze a shot in the corners. No wonder she's a baller shot caller. W bodies crashing to the ground in the box getting a good look at the net not going to be a picnic in the park.

Just lost the first match vs San Jose Earthquakes 0-1 on a second half corner kick that deflected off a body...unlucky. Shots on goal were equal, size was not. LOL. San Jose was easily twice our size, whoa! They are clearly one of the best teams in the nation and behind Texans ECNL, I think they are the second highest ranked in the tournament. Our girls were definitely not ready for the physicality, they threw us around like rag dolls. Surprisingly not one single card, ref was definitely letting them play. If you weren't aware because of the weather, we played 15 min halves and they double the score when they post it. Gotta learn from it and move on. Tomorrow we play FC Dallas ECNL....

So how would you have done in a full length game against these grown women?

Hard to tell. We have one on crutches after the game and one whose knee was getting all wrapped up. We might not have had enough players by the end of the game? LOL They are the better team but that doesn't mean the better team always wins. Our girls didn't back down and played with heart, but it would have taken some lucky bounces to draw or win that one. I would guess a 1-2 loss if it went full time, but it's just a guess.

OkieEnergy, do you have your goalie for this tournament? If I remember correctly not having your goalie was the reason for a poor showing in a tournament earlier in the season. Regardless, should be a much different outcome playing FCD ECNL.

Will the 2 0 poat on the record or 1 0...that seems jaded to double the scores because of game length. What kind of tournament does that? Your manipulating the system.

Yes we have our keeper. She had an amazing save in the first half! That's normal for her though. Without her would have easily been 0-2. And we were a 0-1 game away from playing in the semi-finals in Phoenix...LOL I guess you could say it was a poor showing, but I wouldn't.

I think it ridiculous to ask teams to fly here from out of state, out of country and then give them 30 min games. If that were me, I would not come back to this tournament! Still not sure how they are going to play games from today that were canceled......

Tournament this big you would think they would have more turf fields. Then again the parking situation at the opening ceremony should have been a dead giveaway on this bad deal.

What a interesting start to the tournament - 15 min each 1/2 . Quakes average player is about 100 lbs soaking wet. A few girls 5'6" 1-goalie, 2-center forward,3- mid and 4-defender. 8 just making 80 lbs. if that, of the 16 on the roster. OEFC about the same. Hard to play possession with the burning need to score. OEFC feeling the same stress. Game was physical on both ends, quakes used to playing physical teams despite our size, game was ugly ,and a far cry from a good game, and difficult to assess the match up of the two teams true ability. Best part was the parents that found SJ Quakes in the parking lot to pose for this picture. Good luck OEFC in the rest of the tourney.. hope we both can play a full true game. A few OEFC players- two small quakes not pictured.

Not sure what Calisoccerfan7 is talking about but you can go watch the game on our team's twitter account. We broadcast from there. You will see the size difference even from your phone. LOL. The Quake parents were chill, walked around the track during the game, while the girls were very intense, talking smack to our coach during the game. One of the Quake girls apologized to one of our player for her team's behavior. We haven't played many Cali teams if any, but in Oklahoma players do not talk to the other teams' coach. Definitely not used to that.

Well, which of the two posters were actually at the game? Tulsa guys say OEFC plays kickball, sounds similar to what Cali is implying. The shortened game definitely benefits the lesser of the two teams. Im betting OEFC was outclassed in this one, but definitely should be the better team in the next matchup. What a shame to have these nice matchups and only get to play for 30 minutes.

I literally said the Quakes were the better team. LOL. You don't have to bet that we were outclassed...and it's odd you use the word class...LOL

All you have to do is click on the twitter bird icon under my username, it will take you to our team twitter page. Our number 9 is our tallest girl and as you can see she is shorter and smaller than quite a few of your girls. She would just be average size and height on your team.

We all agree the format is horrible. Interesting how you say the ref wasn't happy with our coach and that affected one of your players? How exactly does a ref getting on to a coach affect another team's player? Can't wrap my mind around that one unless the players were talking to the other team's coach...which is what happened. Like I said, the parents were great! Some of the best parents we've ever faced! The intensity on the field was something we haven't seen to this point. You'll really want to watch the 6:45 section of the second half when our midfielder gets taken out from behind and the side with no foul called. She's the one on crutches now. Video shows it clear as day...

Okie absolutely fine to have a different perspective on what happened on the field. We are familiar with very physical play in So Cal Surf cup which pales in comparison to todays game. Note the ref was not happy with OEFC coach at some point which affected one of our players. I'm not clear on the specifics. However- That is the game of soccer, no judgement.
No need to discuss the antics that happened on the field as the teams were not allowed to shake hands after the game- to no fault of our team. Again be well. The photo would not attach but is on our instagram page.

ps It usually takes us a full game to piss off a coach. hahahahhahahahaha

Our coach is no rookie...LOL He's had his A license since 1996. He's played your club and coaches many times with many different teams. He knew exactly what to expect...

Our team has been in existence and this Pre DA since,
June 2017 - This team has been in existence for less than a year. Our coach is also new to this club San Jose Earth Quakes, Development Academy. We enjoyed your film and saw a lot of physical play and hope when you view it and see both sides of the game. Be well.
