FBR09 Rankings April 9th, 2018

Updated 09 FBR as of 4/09/18. Only 09 teams with 3 or more games played since 10/21/17 are included in the FBR published rankings. All games in the U9 leagues and tournaments that "publish results" are included.  

FBR09 will also include any 09 teams playing against each other in the 08 division.  As long as the teams that are playing up are not using 08 players when playing against each other 09 teams.

Also, ranking points are derived from who you play and their tier(not your own tier) and, how well the teams you play do.  As always regulation scores are used for FBR, not OT and no PKs that determine game result(if known).  FBR is presented as W/L/T not W/T/L.  This FBR is the sole representation of FBR09,  any and all complaints(and compliments) should be directed to FBR09.  These rankings use the same software and criteria as with all prior year FBRs.

How did FC Dallas Extreme move up, they are in the lower gold division???

if you have older daughters, how have you seen these ranking relate to their placement in LH league?

were the top 10 normally D1? just wanting to get a feel for what we are working with.

Gotsoccer rankings suck.  Go to some crappy tourney that gives lots of points and you are ranked too high.  Look at FCD Premier as an example.  Look at Solar Academy for being under ranked due to not playing in point giving tourneys.  Try this instead:

MY observation is that the FBR is not entirely accurate but is respectably close.  I'm sure it goes without saying,  it's accuracy for any particular year group differs and the further out you are from LH qualification (with regards to time), the less and less reliable it is as a predictor.  Seeing as how the 09s have about 15 months to go, there is ample opportunity for the FBR rankings to shift though, typically, the top 5-7 teams now, will likely be in the top 5-7 a year from now and the majority of the remaining teams in the top 20 now will likely be in the top 20 a year from now (the first year of LH Div I is 20 teams) ............. Nevertheless, absolutely nothing can predict mommy's, daddy's, DD's, or even coach's emotions over the next year, which all too often lead to player movements...... and of course, there is always a team or two who has a better than expected showing at the qualifying tournament and a team or two who has a worse showing............

Looks like only 38 teams were invited to last summer's QT. Will be interesting to see how many 08 teams are invited this summer.

QT is an open. You pays yo money, you is in.

You'll be surprised how many "Top 25" teams now will not even exist come QT.

You'll be surprised how many "Top 25" teams now will not even exist come QT.  

top 10-15 probably still will

of the top 15...11 are apart of the "Big Clubs" so they have a good chance of staying in tact

Who creates the youthsoccerrankings??? Is it like FBR or its automated???

Solar09Naizer was on the previous list but not on this one.

Neither is FWFC, who also plays in the same arlington league as Nazier.

Not like FBR I don't think, it seems more automated. They (people who run it) seem to pull data not just from got soccer posted games, but rec leagues and tournaments. the numbering is different in that you could potentially see the goal differential expectations across age and gender groups according to the site.

I just know from reading on here and then on the site itself. Kind of fun to look at different age groups. It does allow you to click on teams and see their latest posted games and whether it helped, hurt or was neutral to them in the rankings. I like to look at the older kids teams where we have friends on them, since FBR stops once select begins.

Based on my (admittedly not perfect) knowledge of the Top 20 teams or so, FBR is remarkably accurate.  Is the #4 team better than the #5 team?  Not necessarily (and that can change week to week in real life in any event).  But in general it gives you a very good idea of where your DD's team, and the teams that your DD's team is playing, stack up relative to the other teams in the area.

It used to be the FBR would provide a link to the excel file they were working from so that you could see which games are included in the rankings. I really wish they still provided this so that we could see and make sure all games are accounted for!

'used to be'?? Don't recall this ever happening. FBR doesn't operate from excel either. FBR09 is aware some Arlington games missing and will add them in.

"Used to be" was a long time ago...when my 05 was about 7, so about 5 years ago? Anyway, maybe it wasn't excel, but they did list a link that had what games the ranking was based upon. I'm not crazy! This did happen.

Gotcha. I know a thing or two about FBR, but that was before my time. BWG must have gone above and beyond the call of duty for a while.

Easy enough to check gotsoccer vs the listed record, if something is missing PM FBR09, would be my suggestion.
