FBR09 Rankings August 21st, 2018

Updated 09 FBR as of 8/21/18. Only 09 teams with 3 or more games played since 3/17/18 are included in the FBR published rankings. All games in the U9 leagues and tournaments that "publish results" are included.  

FBR09 will also include any 09 teams playing against each other in the 08 division.  As long as the teams that are playing up are not using 08 players when playing against each other 09 teams.

Also, ranking points are derived from who you play and their tier(not your own tier) and, how well the teams you play do.  FBR is presented as W/L/T not W/T/L.  This FBR is the sole representation of FBR09,  any and all complaints(and compliments) should be directed to FBR09.  These rankings use the same software and criteria as with all prior year FBRs.

Updated the tiers and also included games vs ESC, since we already have data on this team and they are a common opponent for NTX teams.  ProphAC:  Solar South rankings will not go up until some of the tournament scores drop off. Playing teams that are ranked 15 or higher doesn't help your rankings, it actually hurts it a little.   Hopefully everyone is happy now

So based on these rankings, which division in the Junior Classic League is the toughest top to bottom?

I believe the Morgan division will contain the most competitive games overall. The other two divisions appear top 4 heavy. I'm sure teams will develop and recruit over the course of the year so things will evolve... but in the fall we are going to see a lot of lop-sided scores.

Does anyone know if they turned down any teams?

Actually Hamm has the top two teams in the age group, solar south should have been put in one of the other two divisions.

Based on analysis of the divisions and each teams FBR ranking, Morgan has the highest average FBR ranking followed by Hamma close second and then Lloyd. Falls about as everyone expected.

I tried, but wonder if I got it right.  
I can't find FC Dallas 09G Webb in FBR and some of the rankings stump me if it is supposed to be "Top 30".

Also, use the median ranking. One opponent with a high number skews the total unless you use the median. I, like the above, am having trouble located some of the teams in FBR.

Median gets the same results from a divisional ranking. There are a few new teams in the league that aren’t in fbr. Clearly they didn’t use the top 30 rule as there are a few really low ranked teams in the league. Not sure the rationale there.

I think the gold silver and bronze divisions made for better matches and development. I cant imagine that any of these coaches are looking forward to a years worth of lopsided games.

I agree. How did Angelone escape that bracket? They must be smiling ear to ear.

I’d rather see a gold, silver and bronze division (for competition sake and Dev) and have the winner of each get a pass for D1, D2 or D3.

You raise a good point, but you lose the "Cinderella story" by doing that.  If they just group the girls 1 - 10, 11 - 20, 21 - 30 with a pass into D1, D2, D3 respectively, that kinda stinks for the teams that have developed/picked up strong players since the rankings and due to the seeding, don't get into the higher tier.  I guess the counter to my argument is that the team will still be able to play in the QT to put them into the right level (right?).

It appears as if they seeded the top three FBR teams in each of the divisions Angelone at 4 was paired with Samba this leaving SS to be slotted with Rush to give them some competition in that bracket. Not sure anyone really “escaped” but SS definitely drew the short straw.

FCD  Webb is #31 Gordon Predator...appears lowest average ranking is actually Hamm even if lowest seed is taken out of the average

There are only 2 divisions the first 2 years of Classic - D1 and D3, so gold, silver and bronze doesn't really work.

Looks like they tried to balance out the Solar teams across the 3 divisions. I think Cosmos should have been with Rush, but then that would have put 2 of the top Solar teams in the same bracket. Just a guess.

Didn't Solar South tie Rush last time they played? Maybe South pulls off an upset again next time they play each other...

Yes, SS tied Rush 1-1 in spring league play..SS should be top team in Hamm division. As DTS, they beat all 3 Solar teams in spring league play, plus beat Colvin last week in OKC

Clicking through from game history on a team that played TEXAS THUNDER 09-G-ASHER (TXN) goes to STING 09 ASHER.

South did tie rush but also got beat by them 4-1 at super copa. No doubt they are a top team but to say they are top team in that bracket is a little too strong. their ranking would likely be better if they played the better tournaments and leagues consistently too many games against lower level opponents.

So Eddyinmyyeti according to your reasoning SS should be punished for playing in non NTX tournaments and winning. How do you personally know the teams that play suck as you are saying??? You dont....

BigBaller, Eddy is talking about the Cowtown Classic and the Texas Lightning Showcase tournaments on South’s schedule.... they pulled their SOS down. Even FBR has pointed out that this is why South isn’t ranked higher. Eddy wasn’t talking about the out of state or non NTX tournaments.
