DALLAS TEXANS FALL FESTIVAL 2018

Once again politics makes its way into everything. Ray Hirschowitz, who told me not too long ago that he is not into club politics and that no one influences him when he is putting together tournaments, is proven to be a fat liar.

Just a couple of weeks ago there were at least 20 teams in the U16 bracket and as of now there are only 10. He says no politics but he is just as much an untrustworthy director as Jesse McNeil at FCD. Ray gives preference of course to DeLeon's teams, now for the big DeLeon team it makes sense but not for his D2 team. Ray also gives preference to Texas South teams who we all know are not as competitive as NTX teams. He has screwed over alot of NTX teams and come up with lots of different excuses but its all cover for his BS political connections. He and only he decides which teams have a shot at Dallas Cup.

I used to respect this dude but he is just another old relic of NTX soccer that needs to go.

I would like to hear more on this especially since his decisions are interwoven with the Dallas Cup.

Do you think there is a pattern of past behavior in weeding out the type of teams he does not want in the mix even for the qualifying tournaments? In your example, are you saying that 20 teams applied, but have been cut down to 10? If so, were the cut teams higher ranked teams than the ones that are in that group of 10? Are there teams or clubs that he generally favors?
Do you think he favors the big clubs plain and simple? Or are there alliances to certain coaches, you cited DeLeon specifically? For those of us not in the 03 mix please explain this specifically.

I think you may be onto an interesting topic that effects more than just the 03s.

One last question- how does the Dr. Pepper and other sponsorships come into play if at all? Do they have any oversight in place?

I only see 16 applied teams, not 20 and it looks like there are 13 accepted, not 10.  Not sure if it changes your argument but thought I'd throw out the current numbers.

Also, not sure, but possible the 3 teams not yet accepted may very well be accepted since 13 is an odd number and 16 works out much better with even brackets. They may have just not sent payment yet. Who knows. Guess we'll find out once everything is finalized.
