22 minutes played and already winning 3-0? I’d be surprised then if SuperCopa names both teams co-champs.

was 3-0 Rush at half in the Dallas Cup when DKSC Bones played DKSC Rush a few weeks ago. That game ended in PK's. Just saying, lot can happen with a whole half of soccer.

SolarDFeetersKids, No the game was almost over when (NEW 09 keeper) for Vouiter made a mistake in the box and DKSC Bones scored tieing it up, which lead to PK's. But DKSC/RUSH Voutier managed to still come out the winner! I get their are alot of close games with the DKSC/RUSH team but at the end of the day if they win by 5 or 1 it's still a WIN and they remain undefeated. They are just a very talented group of girls being lead by a great coach, hats off to them for continuing to representing Texas the way they do!

You are probably right that the team winning 3-0 will go on and win, but it certainly isn't a guarantee. If those are the rules and the rules and are clear that games that get to halftime are official and games that don't are not, then I don't see how you get around that without being unfair to one side or the other.  Not to mention I assume they can't make this game special and call it final and then otherwise apply the rules for other brackets and ages that had closer games that also didn't reach halftime.

It's unfortunate, but other than the cost of some extra medals and trophies, there's nothing wrong with having co-champions.

I think the point is, that while Voutier is still the "best" team, other teams are getting closer and Voutier's team cannot afford to relax. They will still have blowout games, but will also have to earn wins against several opponents by working hard. All the better for the league and development of player's from all the teams.

Here are my takeaways from this years' SuperCopa...and I probably should refrain from posting over at the SoCal Forum.

1. Voutier is the #1 team of '18-'19 season for the age group.
2. SoCal teams are over-rated on YSR; this is especially true the lower ranking you go...North Texas should have many more teams at higher rankings or SoCal should be knocked down. FYI, Liverpool brought 5 new players/guests to SuperCopa which is why they had a better result.
3. Region I teams are heavily under-rated. Cedar Stars was the only Region I team at SuperCopa this year and came in ranked 5th in Region I and #51 overall on YSR but managed to make it all the to the Gold Semis.
4. It is highly likely that team from the Northern Midwest are also under-rated. Chicago Juniors South had a very good showing and are currently ranked at #95 on YSR.

My Final Top 10 for the '18-'19 Season
1. D'Feeters Voutier
2. Slammers PA Aguirre
3. Michigan Wolves-Hawks
4. SUSA FC
5. Solar South Adames
6. Slammers Cruz
7. Blues FC Navy
8. PDA Legacy Blue
9. D'Feeters Bones
10. Toss Up between SoCal Blues Mulligan/Eagles SC

That's a wrap for the '18-'19 season in my mind. Now we get one more year of equal club play before the top '09s move to DA or ECNL teams and/or 11v11.

Preview of next years' SuperCopa. Expect two new top teams to be there, PDA Legacy Blue and Michigan Wolves Hawks. No matter which players move around to which club, I am already picking PDA Legacy Blue to win SuperCopa next year as I have inside knowledge of new players they have and understand they are good step below PDA even before the new players.

Who knows, maybe we'll see some of you at Jefferson Cup next Spring?

Obviously you all here know what kids are moving around along with SoCal parents over at those forums. I told the SoCAL Parents beginning in January 2019 that North Texas had the teams to beat and next year PDA, Michigan Wolves Hawks, D'feeters Voutier and Slammers PA Aguirre will be the teams to beat.

A lot of teams are already consolidating talent. DKSC Bones is a totally different team than it used to be; especially since the beginning of the Spring season. FC Dallas JDL is another example. I am wondering if Solar has considered doing the same thing. They have many, MANY 09 teams. I am sure they can create several elite teams if they wanted to do so. What about the Texans? Also, I saw that they lost Dallas Texans Vazquez. That is a huge loss for the club.

Bones for sure has improved over the last month after a lackluster spring. The FCD super team is going to disrupt the top team ranking I believe. As far as I’m hearing Solar isn’t consolidating teams/talent but it’ll be interesting to see what they do after this first year of select if their top teams struggle. They could certainly produce two elite teams if they wanted to. Texans have to be wondering what the heck is going on after their results the last month or so.

I think Texans Vazquez just changed their name to
DALLAS TEXANS VILLARREAL NTX YELLOW, right? I think they are still with the Dallas Texans.

SoCAL parents triggered!

"Why travel to SuperCOPA when we have Surf Cup which is better"

Ugh, they will never admit when someone else is better. So much fun to troll them!

Things are much more humble over here!

Ahh, I guess that makes more since. I was just looking at the name change in the rankings and they still had Dallas Texans in the name which confused me.

Post tourney comments,
1. Solar South is a handful, they deserve to be co-champs, there is no telling how that game ends up. More than likely, Rush wins but nothing is a given in this game. We all know that. I am happy we got a chance to play them, that was the one game we were really looking forward to playing.
2. Legends FC, well we had them down 1-0 and dominating the game until the last 10 min. Kudos to them for snatching that last goal. Good teams do that but there was no real threat besides that one goal.
3. Blitz green had our number, on some days you just can’t get it going and we changed up our lineup to try to score more and we got caught. Good for them. They are no slouches.
4. KC Legends had 2 girls that could flat out play, they have one young lady, 12, that could change the outcome of a game all by herself. She could easily play and star for any of our top 5 teams.

Those are the teams we played so that’s all I can speak of, overall, the competition was great and the refs were very good, IMO. They let the girls decide the outcome instead of inadvertent handballs and headers, which, is how it should be.

The tents and Gatorade were great touches, the weather cooperates until the last day, the setup was highly professional from the sponsors to the broadcasting to the layout of tents and merchandise. It was a high level experience for our girls as Supercopa newcomers. Thank you U90C!

I am very proud of our girls and the future is bright. Our girls were never outclassed at any level and I feel they shined bright in most their games! I am especially proud because we played without our starting mid and our starting back had to go to camp mid tourney, and the other go rls stepped up big.
Congratulations to the Texas teams that took home hardware, we are so proud of you. Now on to the qualifying tournament, good luck to everyone!

Go Cosmos!
