2011 USYSNC in Phoenix

I read Broke's post about the ECNL tourney in Colorado and I wish we were headed their frankly. Alas, we are not. However, the U-16 games that matter to us in the link that I will post below are all played at 8am.

Sting gets Scorpions, Mustangs, and hometown rival Texans.

Texans gets Hurricanes right out of the chute, Sting, and The Michigan Hawks.

Looks to be a strong challenge for everyone included.

I still see an orange trophy at the end of the day, unless someone finds a way to shut down all that scoring out of Oklahoma. :-)

all kick off here in 24 minutes in Phoenix.

Texans HAS to tighten the D, as we KNOW HFC will be firing all guns.

Sting has to play like we know they can, and they will win.

Scorpions should handle the Hawks.

but HFC beat Texans - 3-1

Sting beat Mustangs - 3-1

And Scorpions beat Mich Hawks - 2-0

Looking like a repeat of the Region III Championships in the works...

Those games are in progress. They started at 10:00AM Dallas time, so they should be completed in the next 10-20 minutes.

Scorpions just added one....its 4-3 Hurricanes, but a tight match.

Winner of Sting vs. Scorpions tomorrow will most likely face Hurricane in the National Championship finals. I am pulling for Sting and an all Region III final...but be wary. Scorpions will give Sting a tight game. These two teams played twice in last year's national finals with a 0-0 tie and 1-0 Sting win.

Just curious. Were all the other teams eliminated at this point or was there a really pissed team watching that could have advanced if not for a tie ?

Good point, Unc. Obviously...Sting is out to send a message as they whooped Scorpions this morning 3-0. It will be another Sting vs. Hurricane matchup (third time this year). Guarantee of Region III champion again.

BTW...Hurricane is losing to Mustang Blast 2-1 (Game still showing in progress). That will be their first loss this year...I believe. They will still be in final against Sting...even if they lose. Will they be mad as hornets or a little shell shocked?

Sting truly took care of business....well done. 3-0 over the team that I thought COULD be the biggest threat (shows what i DONT know) to Hurricanes. WELL DONE!

Then....Mustangs put it on HFC....WOW....would loved to have seen it.

But I do have to say....there is a certain keeper that i heard played pretty well for Big Red today....pretty proud of her right now.

My guess is that Hurricanes relaxed a bit today and starters probably didn't see a lot of time since they had already locked.

Sting had their year last year ... my guess is that it is Hurricanes this year.

Hurricanes winning 3-2....must be pretty late in the game.

2 USYS championships in a row as well as a ECNL last year.

Obviously extremely talented group of girls ... trained and coached by incredible coaches that know how to find and develop talent, as-well-as develop strategic play at this age.

Hats off to the Sting girls. They were down 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and still won 4-3 in overtime to a team that had not lost all year (save their rest game on Friday). I feel for the girls from OK cuz they had a helluva year to come up short...but glad that the trophy stays in Texas another year!!!

not nitpicking, but they were playing 45s...i think Sting won in regulation.

Watched the game......it was overtime.
