Kat Webb no more!

Rumor has it Kat Webb is out as coach of a super Solar 02 team. Was she dismissed or leave on her own? Anyone shed any light?

That news may not have hit the forum yet but it's been out there a while-it's nothing new. SKDD Same Kat Different Day

She had already lost her 03 teams right? So does she still have an 05 team? or is she completely gone from Solar?

I would check with Jj4mel. He knows Kat well plus he's the Solar Spokesman for this forum. Fill us in Jj or should I just stick to my love affair again. Guess my sources were right. Your Spokesman position is on the line JJ, speak up.

Heard they went the opposite of Kat and are interviewing Randy "the Dawg" Jackson and Dog The Bounty Hunter.

But, this is an 02 thread, why would an 03 poster like JJ be lurking on the 02 threads? Never stopped him before, and he is the biggest Kat supporter on these forums. JJ - please shed some light for the rest of us in the dark?

Not many people talking, unusually quiet on this forum, considering Kat is usually a hot topic, and this is a top 3 team in the area.

Really I dont think anyone cares ie lack of talk -see old post when she left FCD, Sting, Mustangs etc etc etc..........

Wow!! Getting called out by the pollsters!! I feel honored. I am a Kat supporter and always have been. She has been a wonderful coach for my DD. Unfortunately, I am unable to comment to any of the information posted about her '02 team. I heard a rumor about it last night at practice and I see it is now confirmed here. I wish Kat, the '02 girls and parents the best of luck.

May be if they renamed her team to DT something she will be news as tho if you are not Higg no one seems to care

Ifyouonlyknew, What Kat has that your coach doesn't? A USSF "A" coaching license. A leader on a Division I soccer team. 25+ years as a coach, mentor and leader in this community. Many of her student/athletes have gone on to big things. Kat has done many great things for this team.

What has your coach (should I call him Hurricane Phiri) done? I mean, other than leave a trail of damage the last 6 months? I don't think you really want to go there!

Why do you even care? You don't even have an 02.

I thought Webb doesn't do Select Age teams. Why is this coaching change any different than any other one before? Makes sense that a team would get the new coach months not weeks before LHQT. Did Webb tell people she was taking this team into Select?

Mentor and leader in community? Student/athletes? She's an academy coach. Nothing more and there is nothing wrong with that.

Don't forget such outstanding qualities as degrader and demoter of children's confidence. BTW, I don't think they teach you those coaching qualities in USSF "A" license school. But what do I know. I only have an "F" license. It was weird. At "F" license school they focused on making the game interesting and enjoyable for the players. I guess as you move from "F" up to, or down to "A", they teach you how to be an a--, and how to apologize after the game because you were an a--.

My DD played for KW for years and she can be critical and honest to the girls, but I've never her seen her be just flat out degrading. You'll get the grandma comment, the fruit loop, and the "Are you serious? repeatedly, but not much worse. Just like for any coach, I am sure there are some girls that either don't click or just can't keep up with her teams and became hyper-sensitive. My DD and BB have played for several coaches that were way worse and from what I am told by the elders, is that it gets worse, not better as the girls grow. For the most part, if you want to play D1 for the long haul, you have to have some thick skin, kid and parent.

Another well-known fact about KW is she doesn't keep teams together through select. Losing 02s was kind of expected at this point, at least from the outside.

so easy to sit behind a screen name and hate and degrade. she is not right for every girl (goes for all coaches), but there are plenty of girls who absolutely love her.

The admin of this site could save alot of server space if he just put one of the annual Kat Webb threads at the top of each academy age section. Then all the noobs could simply read the same ole that the generation before posted, instead of posting it all again.

Note to admin - When the whining for an '06 section starts, put this in as the first sticky.
