my girlie is a 95. I dont have a sense of anything with Kat from before that age group, but I know a heavy group of ladies on both Sting and Texans ECNL teams in the 95 age group that were with Kat for a period of time. She also has ladies that played for her at Feet, FCD, Solar, and many other teams in this age group. Her skills emphasis, shooting training, and passing focus that starts at such a young age is never lost on the girls even as they progress into their U-15, U-16, and U-17 years. But its true...there comes a time, that her coaching style wears the young ladies thin and a change is needed. I have seen more times than not, the young ladies always hold her in very high regard even after they have moved on, but the parents are the ones that saw the need for change more than the girls did.

I wish Kat well, and I love her, but even my girlie needed to move on at some point.

Don't forget such outstanding qualities as degrader and demoter of children's confidence. BTW, I don't think they teach you those coaching qualities in USSF "A" license school. But what do I know. I only have an "F" license. It was weird. At "F" license school they focused on making the game interesting and enjoyable for the players. I guess as you move from "F" up to, or down to "A", they teach you how to be an a--, and how to apologize after the game because you were an a--.

so easy to sit behind a screen name and hate and degrade. she is not right for every girl (goes for all coaches), but there are plenty of girls who absolutely love her.

"06"? This is your honeymoon period. The divorce will come within 3 years. Eventually she will figure out that "fruit loop" is AKA "you idiot". Then it won't be as much fun.

And I know for most of us, the last thing you want is someone telling your daughter she did something stupid on the soccer field. We want them to think that everything they do is wonderful all the time. I'm taking my girls to upward instead of lhgcl!

Sometimes it is hard when you are on your phone and not your computer. So yes, I guess it is difficult.

Is it difficult for you to come up with really lame questions? Probably not.

I am all for a coach telling my daughter what she did wrong and what to do next time. What I don't like is a coach who looks at a player after they have done something improper and coaches them by yelling, "Seriously!!!" at them. What good does that do? Does the girl even know what she did wrong? Probably not. But now she is so afraid to make a mistake that she doesn't really play the game. She certainly wasn't taught anything from that mistake except that if you make one, you are going to be humiliated by the coach. Great coaches take mistakes and make them learning opportunities.

That's what I look for in a coach and I don't give a crap if the coach is in Lake Highlands, Plano, Upward, Rec., YMCA or any where else for that matter. Make my daughter and her team better and inspire them to love the game.

Looks like passthedarnball has outed himself. I do believe he is the Fever 02 coach. All this time, I thought it was just the Fever 03 team that spread the negativity. I am impressed, though. I didn't think any of their coaches had a license.

I know KW as a person and as a coach. Like someone said, if the shoe doesn't fit don't get a fit, get another one.

I heard kat Webb is starting her own club.

Webb was at Michael Brown tonight to see Dynamo beat her 2-1, and Dynamo missed a PK. Dynamo dominated that game, could've been 4-1....

Kat has idiosyncrasies, some bad habits and she's hyper active but she's an awesome coach for athletic, driven, tough skinned younger girls.
The parents who throw their toys out of the pram when her name is mentioned either have a financial beef with her, their kid wasn't a kitten or they have a cobb shoved so far up it won't ever come out.
Your DD's will remember all the cool things about their long ago coach years after they've dropped you off at the old folks home because your bitterness was too much to deal with.

Say what you want about Kat, but claiming she has 2 supports shows your ignorance. She has been coaching academy for over 30 years (I believe 78s was her first) and has plenty of fans. She is by no means perfect, but it is not a stretch to say there are hundreds of women soccer players that she coached and devloped that greatly appreciated her efforts. My DD played with her off and on, and it was by no means always peachy, but she still loves Kat and the time she spent with her.

It's sad to see Kat go. It would have been good for competition to have her stay with this team. Unfortunately, the 2-3 of the allied parents will quickly move towards another top team. Then a couple of others will scatter to find a place with other clubs. By the qualifying tournament for LHCL, there will only be 2-3 truly elite '02 girls teams rather than 5-6 that existed at this time last year. So goes North Texas Soccer!

Over the last year we have lost Solar Stav, DT Glotz, now possibly Webb. I sure hope those parents stay together. They are a solid team.

Why is that if they are getting as good or probably better Select level coach?

If it is the SL HS coach he has had significant success at the younger ages so far.
